Battery problem for old stock DigiQ
 

Do you think that old stock DigiQ or older models would have shorter battery life? Anybody had any good or bad experience with buying old stock items? :confused:

Shorter battery life vs. what? The 'old' stock DigiQs use the same batteries as the 'new' ones.

Is there a specific problem your wondering about?

...i mean if the battery life (after full charging) is affected by the length of time the battery was stored or not used. I just bought a DigiQ that was released in 2001 and it's run time after full battery charging was not too long compared to the newer model that I got. I followed all the instructions so I just thought that it's probably because it's an old stock item. See I'm no expert on batteries... :(

Ahhh, I see what you're saying now.

The crappy runtime is to be expected if the car has been in storage or not used for an extended time.

I'd say run it through about 4 to 5 cycles of charging/discharging and it should be back to peak performance again.

namuna, is it just me, or have you noticed, that if you fully charge a digi-q, then turn the car off, it will be ready to run in a week, and the cell only discharges, after u have fully used it, would this affect the battery life, ruin them for example?

Being a DigiQ, it has the on/off switch at the bottom (something the Bit Char-G and clones don't have). Hence when you turn it off, it opens the circuit and no juice flows and battery power is maintained.
