Making a Crap body Good, How to make it Good?

I've heard lots about people making opening doors and such, so I cut out my hood. What do I need to make it open and close? What should I do next, doors, trunk, etc? What sandpaper do I need? I am going to paint it too, what color, what paint? And where can I find all this stuff?

i've never heard of anyone cuttin off the whole hood...what i've seen people do is cut the front part and the two sides and leave the back part of teh hood connected to the body...then u keep it close and get a decent wideness rubber band and cut two pieces smaller than a half an inch but bigger than 1/4 an inch...then glue two strips of rubberbands on the hood and the body and it should work

no you are soposed to cut the whole thing off then do what you said with the rubber bands

just do a search on this site for hood or somthing you will find it

If you want a carbon fiber looking hood mix one part Testors Silver gloss with one part Testors gloss black it looks kind carbon fiberish I did it on my RX7's hood and wing.

No offense, but it looks like you cut it kinda ragged. Maybe you should get another body and try again.

This is what sandpaper is for.

if u cut off the doors too and make those open/close with rubber bands, the body will be quite weak so if you do cut the doors, use it for show cuz if u crash it, it might shatter, unless of course u can make it so that when teh hood and door is closed, there's a tight enough fit to regain some of the lost structural integrity but....eh, try it and see how it goes
