Steering linkage idea

I was looking at this: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/steering.htm and wondering if its possible to make joints in the bit steering linkage.

It would make the angle of the wheels turn at different degrees allowing for smoother turns. There is a formula somewhere to figure out where the linkage should be jointed but i can't find it. Wonderin if anybody here knows it.

Edit: heres the more direct link http://auto.howstuffworks.com/steering1.htm

how do u plan on making the joints? i was thinking of using a metal strip and glueing it to one end and then the metal strip could hold the axel allowing the other piece to pivot.
