Charging Dual Cells...
Hey guys,
Ever since I created my first dual cell, I've had problems charging it(of course when I finally do get it charged, it's fast as hell!!). Do you guys recommend doing the Controller mod(bypassing the pcb on the controller and hooking up the charging plate directly to the batteries(3.0V) Or using the Radio Shack battery pack which includes 4 batteries and soldering a charging plate to it's corresponding neg. and pos. wires(6.0V?) I've fried 2 batteries already using the Radio Shack battery pack!! Could it be because the batteries were only 50MAh? Thanks in advance! |
use 3 batteries in a radio shack charger not 4 thats way too much or only use 2 it should be enough

A dual pack at 2.4v actually needs about ~3.6v (give or take) to charge properly.
Using Alkaline batteries, in a generic pack with no regulation on current is a BAD idea (which is likely why you had bad things happen). My suggestion is to find an AC Adapter, rated higher than 3.6v (but try not to go too much over) and at 500mA to 800mA. This will give you a nice, SAFE and CONSISTANT charging environment. |
