frequency crystals?
Does any1 know:
->Where to get them? ->Where they are located in the car and controller? ->How to install them? I know ppl say it's useless to change crystals, but i just want to experiment:D |
It's been done before. Check out this thread. Search around the forums for sites to buy stuff at (like this one).
BTW, nice work chelboed! |
the crystles in the car are under the pcb the white thing with wire around it. in the controller its the silver box with the mhz. on it...Solder is the only way!...where 2 get them????off another car????
|
actually there is no crystal in the car.
|
Okay, let's see then. Is the round thing on the PCB the crystal? If so, where would i find that kind of replacement. The best I found was this page: http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...197&type=store. Can someone clear this up for me?

ya theres a 27mhz crystal there. but the problem is the circuts built around it differ for each frequency. so in theory you could stick a 45mhz into a 27mhz controller and it would work but probably not very well.
|
Did anybody ever take apart one of the quad-frequency controllers to see how that works?

crystals
i have lots of crystals. 27, 35, 49, and 57. i have changed them from controller to controller with no real problems. the white thing with wires around it tunes in your frequency. the receiver for the board is under that big black blob. it is nearly impossible to change that blob.
