magnetic.......dirt?!?!

so umm..yeah..i race alot on the smooth concrete and sidewalks...and i notice everytime i pick up my car..i see some black "junk" stuck to the bottom of the front of the car....
looks like dirt or something...ive seen it before..
and before i had put tape there to protect the bottom from scratching..
but....HOW DO YOU REPEL THIS DIRT STUFF!!! is there anything small i can attach to the bottom..like any thin material or something...

heh oh yeah...my car has alot of clear tape on it...tape over the engine, the bottom of the chassis where the engine is, the bottom of the front etc...it helps keep the car cleaner by not letting debris in.. :D

There's not much you can do with the small amount of space beneath the car to interrupt the magnetic field created by the steering magnet. It's just picking up metal shavings which are common. Keep something sticky with you, like tape or silly putty and use it to pull off anything that you can't blow off.

I tape the underside of my car so that i don't have to blow that hard to get it off. Also use a paintbrush to "sweep" it off.

Tape may work. Good for removing dust off of optical material. Try regular celophane tape. Basically put it on then pull it off. Like removing lint from a pice of cloth.

Or a wet finger.

what are you doing running your Bit Char-G on the side walk?!?!!
thats very dangerous. pedastrians might step on it by accident  ;) :D

if you run on clean surface indoor you shouldn't have that problem

hehe yeah i know its bad to race on the sidewalk, but i mean like...outside my house...
Once, i saw a bit get stepped on...it was heart breaking..such a tragedy *shakes head :D
i race mostly outside in empty parkinglots :), the ones that dont have all these deep ridges in them...

hmm...so i guess there isnt much i can do about the dirt...ill just stick to my tape method...

i used 2 use a another rare earth magnet to get the shavings off. it's the same stuff u get when u use a magnetic drill bit on a cheap screw. all those little metals shavings get stuck all over the magnet. no way to get them off easily except use another magnet. the magnet on the outside fo the chassis doesn't have to fight with the poles of the internal magnet either. also, it won't bend your steering spring or anything either. well, that never happened 2 me, and i've been using the magnet for months now.

like killboy said b4 - silly putty works well 2.

all cars that i will be selling will have an extra magnet epoxied to the antenna tip. a magnet sucks metal right off the bottom of your car. you dont even have to touch it.

also an interesting fact about this thread

at least some of that stuff that sticks to your cars probably came from outerspace.

Ooooooo.....interesting.

The solution is simple. Build a micro street cleaner.

hahaha

I use the telescopic magnet picker upper thingies. Works great.
