6 or 7 tooth
i was wondering (im sure it does) does the 7 tooth pionion make a care go faster than a 6 tooth
|
YES IT DOES!
Check out My Kart!
|
Yes it does. It lowers the gear ratio. For example 8.25:1 becomes 7.07:1.

where do you get white pinion gears? i only got a black one?? plz post on where 2 get them
|
k.i.t. racers use 7 tooth pinions.you get 3 in a gear pack.:D

BabyKiller's right. In Japan they're called bit racers. I got the complete racer gears set for $5 here. Also, if you buy any original Tomy motor, it will come with both black and white pinion gears.

cannonball r/c mini car
|
got it at toys r us

My first mini rc was a Cannonball, and I just got another one. They are crap cars, but an excellent source for parts. The 2.6 doesn't have nearly the top end of my 3.2 or 3.8, but it is a very quick, punchy motor, and I think my new one is much faster than the old one. The 100 mah NiMH battery is tough, but it has to be to survive the 4.5v zap from the stand alone charger. The charger is suiatable for chargeing dual cell cars, and has a 1 minute timer so you don't wander off and leave it.
Actually the Cannonball has a 10-tooth pinion. I marked the first tooth with a pen so I wouldn't count it twice. I've figured the formula to calculate gear ratios on a bit is: spur divided by pinion times spur divided by pinion equal final drive ratio, or S/PxS/P=FD To show that the formula works, here's the calculation for the stock gear ratio 18/6=3.0x23/7=3.285=9.85:1 So the Cannonball gear ratio is: 18/10=1.8x24/6=4=7.2:1 |
