Is there a mechanic in the forum?
Okay, I just got my first Microsizer. It's the trans. green Microsizer Sport. I noticed that it has a range of like four feet. So I thought that there must be a Cripple Capacitor in it. But when I tried to open the controller up, I found out that someone had stripped the screw head. And I hadn't even touched it! Anyway does anyone know how to get it out? :(

honestly id email tomy. dont mess with it if its under warranty. they will send you a new chassis. then you have a spare to mess with.
|
I assume you didn't buy the MS new. A stripped screw will be a pain in the, well you know. I know that craftsman sell those bits that remove strip screws. If not, you could try and drill it out. Maybe else has another suggestion, because the steering cover screw on my bcg is also stripped. What's worse, I can't get my nakamichi rims off the car.

cut a groove in the head w/ a dremmel or sumthin and use a flat head
|
Does stripped mean that the + thingy on the top got messed up? I hate that. It happens to me all the time. I was trying to get the screw out of my friends controller to get the crip cap out and it got messed up. Is there any way to fix that? Could you just heat a screwdriver and put it on the screw to melt the screw into a new + thingy?
|
file in a slot the get it out with a flat screwdriver and replace it
|
LMAO @ Zephyranthes are you serioius with the melting the screw idea cuz if so then damn man jeez LOL.
anyways i'd try to drill it out first just like you would do to a rivet. or if the screw is made of a soft enough metal (obviously because it is stripped) then you could take a small flat blade and lightly hammer it into the screw head untill it makes a grove that fits enough to turn. |

and if it was used then i suggest using a rotory tool and grind a slot into the head then use a flat head...or drill it off and replace it with another one.... |
Just take it back to the store and return it. If not, contact MS and wait a few days to get a new controller. Oh, and there's a crip cap in the car you can easily get to.
Here's a link on how to remove it: Crip Cap Removal |
Okay
Thanks guys, at this point, the screw is so worn down that I think I'll ask for another controller from Microsizers. And what makes this worse is that the toy was BRAND NEW.
|
then u'll be set....
dont worry about it if its brand new... MS will ship u a new one.... theyre cool about these things.... |
