Digital Lap Counter - is it any good

1 Attachment(s)
I want to buy the digital lap counter for my Microsizers, I have a couple of questions.

Do I need Two lap counters it I want to race two cars?

Has anyone bought a Digital lap counter for raceing, is it worth the money?

Hi Vampyre,
I bought one of those Tomy Digital Lap counters, and they only give lap times for one car at a time, not two.

Mine sometimes gets finicky, and doesn't register, so I'm always having to adjust it.

Anyone else have luck with one?

Thanks.

Hey thanks for the reply, I couldn't find that much information on them. I kinda figured that it would only work with one car.

Do you have to drive near it or do you have to drive over some type of trigger?

I was thinking about using it for timing Solo runs on a track, kinda like an SCCA event.

I had and idea to look for a lap counter circuit on the web, it might be easier to make.

Would you say it was worth the cost?

Thanks

Well, mine was about $12.99 US. It works by infrared beam. Once you break the beam, it will show you the time. This was mainly used for Bit Racers, not Bit Char-Gs (and other clones), that's why it only registeres for one car.

Thanks.
