Dual Cell Boost?....
I was thinking today while at work. Why could we not install a Dual Cell and maybe with the boost button and pcb board have the single cell run but when the boost button is activated allow the current to flow thru both cells for a serious boost.
Is there something I do not understand about this? Why has it not been done as far as I know? |
i did a regular duall cell on my lxx booster and it worked awsome
ya with a dual cell and a good motor a booster board rules. unboosted it is still faster than a stock bit. boosted you get so much torque that you strip a groove in the pinion gear.
No... I am wondering why we could not just run the bit off of a single cell but when you hit a button or the boost buttons it would allow the current from both cells to run thru it rather than just a dual cell boosted car. Where it always would use the voltage from the dual cell. I want it to run of a single cell but then dump all of the voltage into it after hit the boost button from the dual cell.
I also already have 2 dual cells but I want to do something different. I need to look more into the how it would be wired up and how it would work next. Any people here with good electrical background I am more than happy to hear what you have to say. |
well one battery would drain before the other. thats not good for them.
I think a problem with that would be, when the first cell goes dead you would probably have some charge in your second booster cell. That might cause problems and getting both cells evenly charged would be a challenge.
Well it was a thought... There has to be a way around the discharge problem. I mean most of the time you would be hitting the boost button allot anyways.. I am going to talk to a buddy of mine who knows allot about electronics and see what he says tonight.
i guess you could find a way to have the boost button control a switch that switches the battery circuit from series to parallel. sounds a little tough and the booster already does that.
Ya but I want serious power when I hit the boost button. Not just a little power!!! It's just a thought, something as far as I know that has not been done yet. It would be cool if I could get it to work. Well I will chat with my buddy tonight and see what he thinks.

u could make a three cell , one cell for reg speed and the other two for duall cell speed (it would be a bit slower than a reg duall) and u could have them swithc, that would be a way of working around the discharge problem
Hmmmm, there is another IDEA...Thanks
thats a lota weight.

Is there anyway to make the boost button make it go slower instead of faster? I'm having a tendency to press boost when I go backwards and with the dual cell, it flips over very easily. I also tend to speed up into the turn instead of slow down making my car flip over.
i guess u could unsolder the button for reg speed and hook up a wire to the boost, then do vice versa with the boost button, so when u press just the boost button it goes eg, then when u press both it goes at max speed. But i dont think that has a point, i was like what ur saying the first few days i had my car but after 5 or 6 days i was completely used to it (until it broke)
