CF chassis question

i was wondering if the stock electronics could be used on the Pro Mod chassis?

will my handling increase any with the pro stock chassis?

are the edges sealed so that they wont come apart?

aperson,

do you mean the cf chassis from tiny rc.com? i was wondering that myself... anyone?

aperson 05-24-2004 08:29 AM

yes i was

Pro mod chassis is designed for hobby grade electronics. There is really no point in going to it otherwise.

but will handling increase at all with the pro stock chassis?

Shiporu 05-26-2004 04:21 AM

aperson,

i was looking at the parts store, and it looks like you can use the stock electronics with the tinyrc cf chassis. it said something like you needed the electronics...so i am guessind that you can use the stock electronics.

for the stock mopd chassis u use stock electronics.
for the pro mod u use any micro electronmics set and make ur own battery pack.

but can i use the stock electronics on the promod chassis if i wanted? i really just want the batteries to be lower than on the stock plastic chassis. lower CG=better cornering right?

try asking tinyrc themsleves. I am sure that they had a customer service area. drop them a line and ask them.

Looking at the mods you have to do to the chassis I don't see how you can use stock electronics.

The metal you see is the heatsink for the stock electronics. When you remove the small peice of carbon fiber that the back screws for the heatsink are atttached to how are you going to make room for the stock electronics?

I think I understand the question as use stock electronics with the Pro Mod chassis and batteries laid flat...........

No, the batteries won't fit flat with the stock electronics.

The only difference in the main chassis plate between stock and mod is the removal of the battery slot cross pieces on the chassis.

I know of no manufacturer of RC Carbon Fiber chassis's that seals the edges before shipment. This is left to the racer as some bevel or file before sealing with CA.

thanks everyone. i think ill go with the pro mod. when i get the money for the chassis and electronics. gotta get my RC10 working first though. (blew a bearing in the tranny and needs a new idler gear.)

ok i dont know if im the only one but, huh? i know i didnt ask the question but i never ever got a straight, plane black and white answer. Do the STOCK ELECTRONICS fit WITHOUT ANY mods and do i need the 2nd. little kit to put my batteries on the way are NOW not laying sideways no custom packs just EXACTLEY the way they are now?

thank you,
civic freak

The stock kit uses the stock electronics and battery holders. It will look just like a stock X-Mod, except the chassis components are now CF.

Check the Main thread and the pics should clarify:D
