The Self Preservation Society...
Hi folks,
I recently bought a M03, and I'm just putting the finishing touches to it now. I've got a set of bearings , Epic 3000Mah Sports batts, and I think I'll use my Futaba MC230Cr instead of the Mechanical Speed control supplied. Anyways, as the title suggests, The car will be along the lines of the Italian Job. Red white or Blue, bonnet straps, & muck everywhere!! First of all, I'd like to mount a set of spotlights on the front, has anyone any idea how I could do this? Where does one purchase 1/10 scale Hella lamps or similar? Any ideas?? |

anyone?

i guess everything is LED now these days...i'd suggest making your own...
... i've had my cooper for a couple of years now, i basically got into 1/10 with the cooper... then moved on to a hpi rs4 to a tamiya 414m2 to a tamiya f201 to a tamiya wild dagger....and now...back again to the original cooper... the cooper has always been alot of fun, with similar motors it evens up the playing field and is pretty much bulletproof so no one has to worry too much about breaking each other's cars... anyways......good luck on the rally lights ;-) |
what is the best pinion for a 13 turn motor because the spur in the m chassis cars seems to be small...
|
not sure the cooper would handle too well with the 13 turn motor
unless you widen the track. the cooper only accepts 16, 18, and 20 tooth pinions. with the sport tuned motor (stock silver can motor with advanced timing) it's recommended at 18tooth pinion. I've run it with a 20tooth pinion and 1/10 scale touring car tires and it's pretty fast already...almost 19t mod motor speed on regular TC. any faster though, and the cooper will flip. On top of that, the gears will easily burn out and you don't have much in terms of motor cooling. anyways, i'd probably suggest the 18t pinion for a 13 turn...too much speed and it's uncontrollable... |
ok thx, does it control very different with the 1/10 touring rims then it does stock?
|
1/10 rims =
1. more grip 2. higher gearing 3. higher ride height higher gearing = higher speed more grip = more likelihood of traction roll higher speed + traction roll + higher ride height = great straightline experience but more likely to flip in the corners |
