I want to buy parts!

I am looking to buy broken Combat Digi-Qs. Most specifically I need the conical mirror/lens assembly on the top of the tank (this piece from other brands would be ok, also). I would also be interested in motor/gear assemblies and treads. I have no real use for the controller. If you have pieces with which you would be willing to part, please PM me here on the forums.

Thanks

hi robotguy,

what are you planning to build with the parts ?

Coming by anything from the Combat Digi-Q line is VERY hard. Production stopped back in '04, not to mention the product line was available via import from Japan ONLY so prices were high.

There's a knock-off brand called VsTank though and they have the R-type line with the rotating turrets (just like the Combat Digi-Q rotating turrets had) and these VsTank*R as they're called just started being released and so far it seems ToyEast is selling them along with accessories and spare parts!

and

You can find a set (2 Tanks) for ~$65 shipped from ebay:

Good luck!

I am working on a robot swarm that needs 360 degree IR communications. The optics on these tanks would be perfect.

Robotguy, just intrigued by your project - care to go into more detail?! :)

Well, it's been a while since I worked on it, but it will be based on this

spare parts

very interesting, a whole swarm you say ? :)
if you are planning in numbers, maybe it would be cheaper to
use VS*R tanks, but i have no idea what type of gears they have.

the little " lens " thingie can also be found on the realy realy cheap clones,
but usually the gear's are of a very cheap quality and of little use.

I was wondering, you are also looking for motor/gear assemblies and treads.
i take it you want to mount your own electronics ontop of it ?
as the digiQ treads are very small, won't it topple over ?

here is somebody who made use of digiQ gears for a microbot,
maybe it is of use to you.

parts you could use ?
http://www.bittybot.com/index.php?pageId=Products
if i recall correctly, there was a yahoo group about building bittybot's,
maybe there's some more info there.

hmmmm, wouldn't it be nice to have a autonomous combatdigiQ
searching it's way trough the battlefield....

( hey, i can daydream if i want to ) :)

As far as the clones go, I am really only interested in the lens. The gearing on the Digi-Q is nice, but apparently unavailable. The bots that I am working with now already have motors, wheels, controllers, etc. That being said, I am always looking for small motor/gear sets.

I have told my kids that i would like a set of the VsTanks for my birthday week after next, so we'll see.
