Micro terrain titans

Basically it a 1:64 scale dune buggy at wallmart for 15 dollars called the micro terrain titans licences under Tamiya only making it better for the money has shocks and swing arm rear suspension it sadly eliminates need for articulation mods on zip zaps/microsizers comes with nimh so no battery swap needed I have photos take a look!!!

How's it handle? :)

It handles alright. The magnet coils are actually on there sides. Instead of vertical. One thing I like alot is how easy they can go over stuff. Much better than my dual cell, superslicks motored microsizer. You can swap zz gears but first the 5 tooth motor pinion gear needs to be swaped with a 6 that comes with zz/microsizers. The motors are slightly different they are shorter. So any other motor requires modification. I'm not in the mood right now I have bigger projects already going.

Oh yeah and there's not an Antena it's infared controlled.

So I found them at toysrus also but they hold the proformance pack which includes street style tires a faster motor, ramps, cones the car and controller only thing is, is that they don't have a rpm rating on motor or any rating they just say faster how lame

Hi, I'm new here. I joined because I noticed the terrain titans at my local walmart. how does it hand with the infared? my experiances with infared controlled cars is that theyre easy to lose connection with. and Im no pro so I'll have to ask, can the function be swapped out for a radio control system instead. my biggest concern is that its the only 1/64 scale rc in my area so id like to get something worth my money.

The infared works great. They only come in 1:64 scale, but they are replicas of tamiaya buggys I don't know there scale but definatly bigger I would say 1:10 scale or so. The one thing about the micro terrain titans is they're extremely slow. If you decide to get one get the performance pack and tell me if it's worth it. But for a 1:64 scale it's a good buy. The infared works great because how small the car is you don't need much reception. As for modding it to regular signal I wouldn't know how. The only thing lacking in the car is speed

IR control is alright, I get about 3-4meters range, although the advertisement states 1.5meters iirc.

Next to these on the shelf at Walmart/Fredmeyer is the new NS Micro Nitro Trucks as well. Same suspension and design, but a truck style body and truck tires all around.
Out of box the trucks are faster, but further investigation revealed they have a red-end motor. The Terrain Titans I bought have a green-end motor. Both are interchangable, same size as a Q-Steer car motor.
If fact, throw a red-end motor from an Micro NS Nitro Truck into a Q-Steer Car chassis, and watch that sucker go! No modding necessary.

For a modder of my caliber, getting into the chassis of the Terrain Titans and NS Trucks is quite a challenge. No more just flipping the PCB over and being careful of steering wires like we experienced with Bits. You WILL have to cut something, be it body, steering wires, etc.
