Foam tires

Dear members,

Since last week we are with our club a owner of a very nice RCP track. We have had some questions about using foam tires on the track. Can we use foam tires, and will the use of these tires increase the wearness of the track?

regards,

Huub.

Just to add some info, I’m Huub’s colleague at the Auto Modelbouw Club Apeldoorn in The Netherlands. We have a permanent outdoor track where we race (club / nats / international races) with 1/10 IC, 1/8 IC, Largescale, and 1/10 Electric RC cars.

Since a couple of weeks we are the proud owner of an RCP track, consisting of 3 Wide-L’s, and 1x Expansion kit + protective strips.

In winter times, in our canteen, we mainly race with Xray M18, Robitronic Scalpel, and just started Kyosho Mini-Z. As we are used to race with the M18’s and Scalpel with foam tires on carpet, we are looking for advise for the tires to use. Currently the smooth side of the track is at the top side, the rough side is at the bottom.

We are looking for advise from racers with experience with respect to the best tyres to use, for not damaging / wearing out the RCP track, but at the same time creating the best grip for the following models:

- Xray M18
- Robitronic Scalpel
- Kyosho Mini-Z
