were did you get those?!!!

how much modding is needed to fit thoses wheels on a bit?

sessiz10 03-06-2003 09:56 PM

I picked up a couple at targets. The wheels make a swap real easy and no hole in the middle of the rim.;)

noxorc 03-06-2003 09:59 PM

I picked it up at Target.

the hubs don't attach to zipzaps or motor works hubs.
But a little superglue will work nice.

I have to either remove a little plastic on the body or extend out the axle a bit. With the new motorworks release, the torque is great. More then enough to spin out with these wide wheels.

On a bit rear you will need a spacer but on a zip you can just glue them onto the zip rim (the black part that holds the cap) works perfect.

An example...

This is a picture of my very first "tiny" RC. It's a " dare I say" Zip I got last Nov. for my boss but kept after finding this forum. It took less than 2 hours before I drilled a hole in the hood and...
( by the way if you mount it this way you MUST use an aluminum or nylon machine screw to avoid steering problems. And yes that is a spring supporting my antenna ( steering linkage from one of my boats.)

those thing's are Sweet! i've never seen that speed kit before... oh the possibilities!

ReD RiDeR 03-10-2003 08:00 PM

Spanky 03-11-2003 02:33 AM

those are precisly the tires i plan on using on my project 56' pickup.. heres the link to the post suprisingly there are auctually many different tires.. so far i have seen 3 different sizes of rear tires. and 4 different rim styles..

payaso 03-11-2003 03:21 PM

What's the grip like on those tires? Are they rubbery or more plastic like?

silla

sessiz10 03-11-2003 03:49 PM

The treads are plastic and the grip is next to nothing.

Spanky 03-11-2003 03:50 PM

give the tires a light coat of rubber cement, or latex moldign compound.. then they are sticky like goo...

Spanky 03-12-2003 01:03 AM

i went to target today and got one of the kits. it was $.80... it was marked as 1.98 but at the register it was eighty cents...

pacman 03-12-2003 01:53 AM

those look like good drift tires cause their wider, the tomy drift tires are crap...

Spanky 03-12-2003 02:15 AM

any tires can be sticky if you prepare them correctly. i will use them as my all around tires on my truck when its done.

dr1zz 03-12-2003 11:31 AM

Where in the name of all that's holy did you get a "Cuda" body???? That's the shizzle

Is is sittin on a ZZ chassis? or a bit?

silla

sessiz10 03-12-2003 12:45 PM

Notice the gears on the chassis are on the opposite side. You can get a cuda from Muscle machines, but it's diecast. I think this is one of those. The chassis looks like a semi clone chassis with the rear wheels removed.

i always wanted a cuda. i almost got a zip zap just for this cuda.
but the body is diecast. the bit rig came dual celled stock so right now it runs fine. im working on the axles, i tried the pullback wheels <-- a bit small, so im gonna put em up front and lego rear wheels will have to do. i have another cuda in a mold right now, im a noob to molding and casting, so i hope it works....if not i guess ill just have to upgrade the motor and mebee the batt. its pretty fast but those tires gotta go!

sessiz10 03-12-2003 01:39 PM

dr1zz If you're intrested, there's a guy making plastic casts of some of these bodies. His name is suntzu28, check my thread over at zip zaps forum. You can also use the MM wheels, and for some traction use spanky's tip up top in this thread.

ReD RiDeR 03-12-2003 03:05 PM

the cuda is bad @$$ i want to make a mold of one.:)

Spanky 03-15-2003 02:34 PM

i was at wall mart last night and they had these new cars called DUBS. there were about 5 different body styles, a esclade, suburban, van, etc. anyway they are diecast, and have kick ass wheels, crhome everything and are slightly larger than regular wheels. i didnt buy one, but they are only 2.99 so not to much for some kick ass wheels. they even have 1mm thick rubber on them so it looks like lo-pro tires...

sessiz10 03-15-2003 02:36 PM

The dub rims are hot. I have a set on one of my bits. If you do a search i think a couple of people have put up pics.

noxorc 03-15-2003 06:07 PM

Go MOPAR.... love the cuda....

but don't like the tires on it... Too off-road looking..
You need fat, wide, slicks.

-Nox

ReD RiDeR 03-17-2003 08:13 PM

about the kits

i got one of the muscle machines kit things and ohhh the possibilities :D

but i cant figure out how to put the big slicks on my ms:confused:

somebody help me or im gonna butcher some perfectly good parts:eek:

oh yeah e got a dude out in my hood with a black cuda that looks just like that and hes got a plow on the front and chains on the tires. it looks like it came from a mad max movie but it is really fast and cool.

Spanky 04-02-2003 09:39 AM

hey i just did a tutorial on how to do it. its on my website. come check it out

ReD RiDeR 04-02-2003 02:52 PM

thanx spanky:) :D

edit* do your bodies fit on ms and bits without modification?

hogjowlz 04-02-2003 03:42 PM

aint the muscle machine tires kinda stiff and not very grippy?

noxorc 04-02-2003 03:48 PM

hog, that would be true. plasticy vs. rubbery.

yes, the bodys interchange on the new motorworks.

the bullet ones don't... they have a screw on body.

-nox

Spanky 04-02-2003 04:46 PM

yes my bodys fit with no modifications. you just have to put the slits in the bodys so they pop on and off the stock mounting tabs. you can put it as low as possible or as high as possible. its up to you...

as far as the tires go. they are supprisingly sticky enough to get you going and keep traction. i didnt even need to add any rubber cement ot liquid latex to the tires to make them grippy!! i think this has to do with how wide they are and the amt of rubber hitting the ground.

so after the mod i didnt have to do anything to the tires. they work supprisingly good.

Spanky 04-06-2003 06:44 AM

i saw some new muscle machines yesterday that have big fat whitewalls!!! they are awesome...

zombiebaby 04-06-2003 11:28 AM

I have a whole box of the musle machine parts I will trade the box of parts for a ae86 trueno body
