Internal Of Bit Motor
i oped up a bit motor 1.0 easy take needlenose pliers and squeeze at the blue cap on motor then push the shaft from the other side and u will see that unlike regular motors these kind have magnets in middle of that spiining part
not on the outsides(along the casing) |

That pic looks like a standard, armature-type motor.
I took one of my motors apart, and it is totally different than that. More like met-sb's description. The magnet appears to be fixed in the center, with the coil spinning around it in a cylinder. Interesting. |
the 2.6 looks the same as the one above too...

They're Bushless!

They do have brushes; They are actually more like "wipers". There are ultra thin copper wipers that move the juice to the armature.

Is there a small piece of metal that connects one of the wiper things to the outside of the can? (maybe wedged between the can and the endbell)

Yes, There is a tiny bit of copper that connects one wiper to the motor can, and the other wiper is connected to that tiny tab that comes out the back of the motors endbell.

Ok, so that's what I lost. Is there any way that I can create a substitute for that piece of copper?

It seems some motors are coreless, while others have cores. The cored ones look like they'd be easy to custom wind. Also, all zipzap motors are corelss, and apparently most Tomy motors are cored. Interesting...

Dose it destroy your motor if you take it apart or can you still ues it?

hey sorry bit freinds i haven't posted on tiny in over a month. shamed to say that i moved to 1/24 scale. i learned alot about motor from 1/24 scale cars. so, i think if some one found a more powerfull magnet(like a nemodium )for the bit motor, it would make it run faster. you can also place magnets outside of the motor, but the bit will have to go through some surgery.

IF I put a steering magnet on a motor would it run any faster?

um have u seen how strong they are you would need some hella torque to do that

i decided to take apart a few of my motors, one of them was like a normal 1/10 scale motor exept minitureized, the comm was in a state! only if i could put in on my comm lathe:rolleyes:
the other was totally different, like the new generation of brushless motors, it was totally reversed. im gonna clean the motors , put a com drop on it to make this thing fly! ill tell you how it goes Tarnj |
