Silent_NightR34 01-03-2003 10:29 PM

dont ya think $48 is a lil to much?all it really is is som kind of straight material made into diffrent patterns..well i can see ur looking for a big profet...BTW its cool..i would buy it if i had the money and if it was a lil cheaper

minirctrack 01-03-2003 11:25 PM

I am sorry if you feel I am trying to gauge someone for money. But, to be honest after materials on this track I am working for $7.25 per hour. I am only building them because they are in high demand locally after people see the high quality for what they call a low price. I would love to help you out on a lower price, but I cannot really do it for less at all. Thanks for your interest,
MiniRCTrack

And I was under the impression that advertising cost money. ;)

P.s. It's alot cheaper just to use some rope or telphone cord and tape it on the ground. But good luck anyway. :D

minirctrack 01-04-2003 11:18 AM

it would be alot cheaper to cut a whole out of the bottom of your car and run around like the flinstones as well, but some people like to do it with style. BTW This is track and barriers included, not just some barrier on the ground.

sessiz10 01-04-2003 08:58 PM

I wouldn't talk about style when it comes to these tracks. The "track" looks like nothing more than a board and the barriers look cheap and guady with that orange color. Maybe a better pic would do them justice but from what I see I'm not all that impressed.

your right about the pic, and sorry bout being somewhat rude earlier, I really should have drank some coffee before posting :)

minirctrack 01-04-2003 09:37 PM

also, if you want to check out a couple mpg's...

sessiz10 01-04-2003 10:42 PM

That's alot better. It seems, from your mpegs that the barriers are magnetic. If this is the case is the track metalic or just the lip?
I still don't like the color of the barriers. Maybe if you could do striped white and red, I think that would look better. Good luck on your endevor.

fatdoggy 01-05-2003 01:59 AM

Heck that's a much better pic, I still think that there are cheaper methods but the track does look much better then the prevoius pics posted. The videos show that it's sturdy but I do agree with sessiz10 about the barriers, red and white would look "cooler"(more stylish) :p, if the border barriers were black and white as well  it would look sweet.

bagelbm 01-05-2003 09:25 PM

Nice, but not very fancy or artistic.

Overpriced obviously, but a nice track overall.

pricing...

Although every person that has seen and purchased these tracks locally have left very happy and feeling like they received a great quality product for a great price, I took all your pricing comments to heart, and today searched out a better wholesale supplier for materials. Now I am glad to say that I can pass that savings directly on to you guys, the serious racing community. I can reduce the price on this track to $40 us dollars plus S&H. There where some questions on how the rails work, so here is a close up pic that should answer all questions. Please contact me at minirctrack@yahoo.com for more details.

sessiz10 01-07-2003 01:23 AM

I use a material for the base of my track that resembles yours. I use interlocking fatigue mats, the type you stand on. they are an excellent surface and if the material of your track base is alike than you do have a quality track there. I've gotta say it one more time (don't hate me just trying to help) You've gotta do something about those barriers, either stripe them or make them grey to blend in with the track. you can boost up your price if the track is appealing. Many of the enthusiasts on this board want a slick looking track to race their cars on. This is why many, including myself, build their own. Once again good luck to you.

a track for sessiz10?

You might like the looks of this model better sessiz10, but to be honest on the other track I drive 2.6 motors and can barely follow the car as is so I need the red barriers to see when to turn better. I do agree striping would look better, but it also would add alot of time and some money to the product. Until I find a better way of striping (more cost effective) I have to stick with racing red lane dividers. I very much appreciate your comments, and the critiques of my product, for that is how I will be able to make it a better product for you. Thanks again,

Just for fun...This is a pic of a track design I have done for a few large corporations locally so they can have more entertainment at there corporate parties! This track is a full size 4 feet x 8 feet with its own folding leg set. I sell this model for around $200.00 but I would not even think about trying to ship it so it is only available locally. (Salt Lake City, Utah)
The red barriers are movable on this model as well.

Racer9 01-19-2003 02:06 PM

Exactly what is that Sid?

Sid 01-20-2003 04:52 AM

thats my lego track Racer9, I made it on a platorm which has a cupboard underneath..I had it in my room...I store all my lego stuff and cars in the cupboard :)

Fourustwentius 01-20-2003 05:19 AM

You make sme surface that simulates rally racing, and I think you'll have a winner. But so far no one can come up with anything.

Racer9 01-20-2003 10:21 AM

I'm working on it. Best surface so far is coarse sandpaper that you rub some.

FullyBaked 01-20-2003 11:27 AM

I made a track out of lego, on our home table... (Barriers: Lego, Ground: Tabletop) and my bro's love it, but my car is BROKEN ARRHHGG...

-Bob

FullyBaked 01-29-2003 11:10 AM

Argh, some one here has to know what a good barrier would be and where to buy it... Please help me out here...
