Who's the Oldest?
 

Just thought it would be fun to find out who the oldest Bit Char-G hobbyist is. I happen to be 32 years of age and love these little things. Ever since my Mom bought me a Tamiya Frog when I was a teenager, I've been hooked. I recently dug it out of my attic, blew the dust off and reassembled it and it WORKS!! But, for now, I'm a Bit Char-G lover. So, if you're older than me, post a reply and state your age (be honest) and if you're older than the last post to this thread, post a reply stating you're age, etc., etc.

BTW, my birthday is Nov. 1 in case someone is the same age.

Well I am 38 here, been in this hobby for many years.

I'm 38, will be 39 december 22.

I've been into R/C since I was a kid, bought my first real R/C when I was 20 it was an RC 10.

I used to do some crazy stuff when I was very young 6-9 years old.I once made an erector set car(haven't we all), it was very simple front axle rear axle with pulley, it rolled straight and to liven it up I attached a sewing machine motor man did it fly then.

Yep when I was a kid there where no abundant supply of R/C vehicles mostly just batttery powered free running toys or if you were lucky you would get a wired controlled toy (I had a honda 3 wheeler)and I had to walk for miles through the deep deep snow, up hill both ways mind you, just to get some lame batteries that would die almost as soon as they went into the toy and..............zzzzzzzzzz

well its beter to be younger:D

I'm 39 and will be (gulp) 40 in Sept. I think I'll stop counting after that.

i was never really into R/C. I had some regular RC cars but didn't buy the real build it yourself kits until a few years ago. and then i saw the Digi Qs and found out about their rival Bit Char-G and I just had to get some:D

as long as i can remember, i have always been building things like minature cities for hot wheels, z scale trains, lego cities, etc. it's no surprise i ended up being an architect. i still build things, just life size now. i happen to come across a bit char g forum a while ago and the youthful urge to build in minature was reborn.

i just turned 15 2 days ago.....ind i've loved r/c cars ever sence i got my tyco car that only whent fw and rv to the right when i was 4. i have travled a long way since then on the large scale and the small scale!

I turned 40 this month - I'm the winner!!! I introduced my 9 yr old son to mini RC racing and we love racing each other. It's a great activity for fathers and sons -- it's cheap to get into and you don't need special courses, the kitchen floor works great.

YAHOOOOOO!!! I knew I couldn't be the oldest. It really doesn't matter tho, my mind feels like its 17 and my body feels like its 62.

You're right about the father/son thing. I plan on picking up a BC-G for my 11 year old as soon as possible and break out the legos to turn the coffe table into an impromptu track. Great fun!!

unfortunately my son is only 2 1/2. i still bought him a bit. i figure i could fix it up, break it in for him until he's old enough;) . i look forward to having a race partner.

i need a racing partner... anyone in the VA area? maybe round fairfax, annandale, springfield or burke area?

i turn 15, on tuesday. I got into r/c's, cuz when i was like 7, i was given a slot car track. Ever since then ive been into all sorts of cars, mini 4WD, little whacked out r/c's, 1/10 cars, other stuff and now bits. After I get my next paycheck, i plan on gettin the AE86 mini-z, or any cool looking mini-z. Oh yeah, i got into bits, cuz my buddy 323it, got one off ebay. I thought they looked cool, and once i got the money for one, bought one. Been fun ever since, and its good to have a place like QFM, like jets winners circleduring the mini 4wd days.

who me?!!?:o :D Mini 4wd was cool. too bad there's no local tracks here that have them... i guess its time for that hobby to retire since its soo old. I remember playing with a couple of them in the 80s when i was in Taiwan. Never really kept them. Until I saw what E)(pulsion had that brought back memories and i kinda got back into the hobby. I really love RCs and the smaller the better:D I wanna get a Micro but is currently working on my TA03:cool:

I am 13 Sept 2nd. I thought I was the youngest. Kids these days :p . But I have the most cars for 13 & under. :o :D

Whoah, im sep 2 too. Thats cool, we gotta have like a birthday post, and people can send us money into our paypal accounts. LOL. yeah tony, when you showed me like your r/c you bought, i looked at the rest of your stuff and i saw the bits, and i was like these are cool, and saved up money after i bought waht i needed. yeah mini 4wd was cool in its day. People tried to bring it back, and im happy they did cuz i got to sell what DIDNT get stolen. got me a castrol bit, a couple pairs of shoes and jeans. Now they got ones that are controlable. Thats crazy, but i think im gonna stick with my bits, TA03, that STILLLLL needs an ESC, and maybe on my next paycheck, a mini-z. Possibly a digi-q, but it seems that control is the only thing i like about it.

well, i JUST got my first bit today, and i am T-minus 93 days, and 2 hours until i turn 16 WOOHOO!!! in other words, i'm 15

Welcome to the wonderful world of RC car! your individuallity and creativity will set you apart from the rest. there are MANY parts out for your lil bit char-g and many mods you can do to it. if you have any specific questions post them up! im sure alot pf people will be willing to help you.

what kind of car do you have? any mods yet?

well i have a red Evolution VII...slight mods done to it...mostly the easiest mods first :D like longer range and such
i did add a front under lip to stop from hitting my bumper on things and ruining the paint

going to eventually add a color scheme of red and white, since the under lip is white..possibly some side skirts, rear bumber and a more noticable exhaust

how would u make side skirts and stuff? what do u use? please share!

mwhaha its really funny, cuz i used a white plastic casing of a video cassete and cut it to fit ..but shhhhh no one will know :D
its somewhat resembles the front of a "MT Suzuka" Hot Wheel if you guys have one or own one.
its sort of complicated how i attatched it.....and i cant take a picture of it cuz i dont have a camera ;/....but i can make a simple diagram. ill do later today :D

i did want to add small rods connecting the front to the grille...but that would have been hard..and it would have been broken sooner or later
