fastest engine!!

hey guys...

i just thought, since there's soo many different engines out there (endless oems, pagers, hot wheels kit racers, etc)... let's have a list of all of em and which one is the fastest?

so far i have 1.0 and 3.0 and one from radio shack...it's in the clear dome display....dunno what it's called....(red back)

3.0 seems to be the fastest that i have

the radio shack one seem to have lots of torque and it's very close to my 3.0...

Barry 10-27-2002 06:04 PM

Ive tried the 2.2, 2.6, QFM 3.8 and ZipZap Turbo and NOS motors in all of my cars. The NOS seems to be the fastest with the 3.8 coming in second.

lanevo7 10-27-2002 06:32 PM

Barry

the nos motor is that good?

where do u buy that motor? i heard soemthing about the fast and furious kit ??? where do i get that?
can i just buy the motor? ...and lastly..how much??

heh...i was thinking of buying the hot wheels kit racing??? it's only 14 (canadian) dollars.... and i can use the batteries and engine...

You can pick up the F&F kit at Radioshack. I dont remember how much it cost ($15???) but you get a lot of stuff you can use other than the motor.

Oh and yes its pretty darn fast.

JaMeZzZ122 10-28-2002 02:33 PM

i always thought the 3.8 ruled them all....i havent checked out the NOS motor yet....i also find it funny that NOS makes nitrous oxide and zipzaps have a NOS motor

blacksabbath070 10-28-2002 07:07 PM

yea

I JSUT GOT IN MY 3.8 today i was hoping it would out run my zipzap motor but they are alomost exactly the same anybody else have their car doin the smae thing oh and also i hear some people talking about a green speed gearing for the bit and its not a zipzap thing its like a tomy thing anyone????

datamonster 10-29-2002 12:29 PM

yea, the green gears are made for Bit Racers or, as it is known in the States, Hot Wheels K.I.T. Racers. They can be modified for Bit Char-gs with a litttle bit of cutting on the axle.

blacksabbath070 10-29-2002 03:48 PM

really?

hey datamonster thanks! i have a question though is there a HUGE difference does it ahve a higher topspeed then the bit char-gs or more torque can someone please explain thier results
thanks

Anyone have an easy way to get the ZZ motors in the Bits without breaking the back tab? (done it 2 times now...:()

blacksabbath070 10-29-2002 03:56 PM

well

well if first you dont succeed then......................

DONT TRY IT AGAIN

i figured it out finally a few days ago...

you have to take an exacto, and cut on inside bottom where the motor goes in....

err this isnt my picture, but i used it as an example of where to make some slight cuts
just trim away till it fits..it wont take long

Here is a little better picture I took about a week ago:

is the NOS engine faster than the 3.8 in acceleration, topspeed,.

and why are they faster in bits than zz

blacksabbath070 10-31-2002 10:43 PM

agghhh

ive said this some many tmes but its ok well the zipzap motors are faster in the bits because the zz motors are built to have more torque because they ahve to move a bigger car so zz motors get off the line well but against my 3.8 the 3.8 has a better top speed

henry 10-31-2002 11:44 PM

i have a 1.0, 3.0,3.4darkside rotor, clone motor, zz turbo, zz nos. it seems that the 3.4 darkside rotor is as fast as my zz nos motor and the only difference is that the zz nos is loud and has beter acceleration and my 3.4 is not as loud and it is fast and smooter then my zz nos, but the acceleraction is not as good. my clone motor seems 2 also have good accelerationm its from a clone called 'Super Racing'. it dose a lil burn out before it goes, but it dont have good top speed. amd my zz turbo is simular 2 it.

kombatgti 11-01-2002 03:26 PM

my 3.8 screams. I'm thinkin about stuffing a zz motor in the back but I have had bad luck with mods that involve chasis cutting.

tinyrc 11-04-2002 12:38 AM

The 3.8 has the highest top end of any motor we've tested, including the ZZs. In addition, you can trade in some top end for torque by swapping gear sets.

JBit 11-04-2002 02:05 AM

hmm since we live in the city and the apartments are smallish (at least the ones i'm in) it looks like a motor with better handling is better than a drag burner - the 2.2 motor seems like a well balanced one.

sg1717 11-04-2002 11:16 AM

I got the FF ZZ Kit

On my box it says the yellow motor is the NOS one and the Red is the Turbo, I put them in my car and I don't feel any differences from my stock 2.2 from either motor?

Is there something I am missing, or is it the 2 speed setup on my that sucks?

blacksabbath070 11-12-2002 05:21 PM

actually

although the "NOS" motor doesnt have as much rpm as the 3.0 its way better have you even tested them??? the torque form the zipzap motors is crazy so it has really quick acceleration and has about the same top speed as the 2.6 , its amazingly fast so before you try to assume something test it out

henry 11-13-2002 02:39 AM

any videos of the 3.8? people been saying that nos is as fast as 3.8 and some people say that nos is slower then 3.0. i have a 3.0 and its slower then my nos by alot.

Ghost of Akina 11-13-2002 10:49 PM

which would be faster in acceleration a 3.8 with 12:1 blue gears or NOS engine with whatever gears

R|cer >< 11-17-2002 09:07 AM

My experience...

I have/had every motor that's available to me...via web or mail-in catalog.

The most fun combination (atleast with bit char-g's) is the F&F NoS motor with the stock (white) axle gears of the bit char-g and the red pinion gear of the ZZ. Slap some medium texture tires on there and It handles great and has enough speed to keep my 3 cats on their toes! =0)

IMO the aqua gears and pinions from the micro sizers are too much for the NoS motor (unless you plan to drag).

00gt 11-18-2002 06:01 PM

digi q motor...its shorter but its powerfull

sg1717 11-18-2002 06:17 PM

Ricer are you using the yellow ZZ motor as the NOS motor with that setup?

Yup!

henry 11-19-2002 04:15 PM

ricer, there r white axil gears? and red pinion gears? arnt pinion gears the black gear that sticks on the motor?

I meant idler gears. My bad...and yes, my bit char-g has white axle and idler gears. I replaced the white (stock) idler gear with the ZipZap Red idler and kept the white axle gear.

Pic anyone? Let me know if this would help. ;)

can you post a pic of this "bit char-g" with white gears.....i havent seen nor heard this before....possibly you have a knock off...

Got this one from an anime mag. Its the 'Mobile' Acura NSX. I know its not the standard packaging but all of the Japanese Kanji is the same on it...if it is a knock off it doesn't matter to me...it smokes every other car I have. :D Here's the packaging it came in...

Bitmod1 motors

Has anyone taken a look at the new Bitmod1 custom-designed motors? Supposedly they have more torque than the others and a 3.5 Bitmod1 motor can trash a regular 3.8 motor!

"I was amazed with the speed of the motor, along with the handing. I could run the motor full blast and still make turns. My wife and I raced side by side, my car with the 3.5 motor and hers with the 3.8 motor, and I was amazed to find that the 3.5 blew the 3.8 out of the water. On a straight away of about 15 feet, the 3.5 beat the 3.8 by at least 5 feet. I was very impressed with this motor. After this test I tested the 3.2 motor against 3.0 and was again amazed to find that the BITMOD1 motor out performed the 3.0 by at least 5 feet again. The only drawback that I found was that I couldn't fit either motor into my microsizer"

I see 3.2 and 3.8 on their site also. This looks really promising. Only downside is they're a little too big to fit a microsizer (so they say). I'm wondering if they're about the size of a ZZ motor then? Someone tried these yet?

Here's the site:

You can't handle the truth....

I don't know what you are looking to do exactly,

But here in Arizona some friends and I have been experimenting with 'Top Fuel Drag Bits'.

If you check smoovy.com you can track down 5mm + 8mm motors that will do up to 100,000 rpm with torque that is comparable to the 2.6 motors. We have been working out a chassis/body design based on 1/64 scale.

The logistics of fitting 4 NiMH cells + pcb into these things is kind of a nightmare, and the cost is prohibitive, we are talking $235us for a single motor.

actofgod 11-20-2002 11:58 AM

So it's basically a 10.0 motor? But with 4 cells, even a 2.2 or 2.6 might be that fast, and the bitmod1 motors might have enough torque to equal this one. It'd be fun to experiment, but dang.. $235 is a lot for a tiny motor. While you're at it, why not get the one with the backshaft and make a 4wd bit like the mini-x design, lol.

BTW do you know what size the Bit motor is? 3mm, 5mm, or 8mm? It looks like 3mm to me but I suck at mental metric.

henry 11-20-2002 05:56 PM

thats a motor from dks. dks also have 2.4, 3.1,and 3.4.

FYI...

Drift King is a good guy. I've bought a few items from him... Never through eBay though. Drift King's website

all i have is the nos and turbo and a microsizer 2.6 and the 2.6 smokes the turbo and nos motor i dont know maybe i just got a good engine.

DKS 2.6 ZZ?

1 Attachment(s)
as anyone put the DKS 2.6 ZZ motor in a bit?

Ghost of Akina 12-13-2002 09:12 PM

hey ricer it looks like you have a clone becuase the PCB cap of every other real bit doesn't look like that and bit char-gs dont come in 49 mhz only microsizers do (bit char-gs come in 27,35,45,57)

and i haven't seen those bodys on the packaging ever and the mobil honda nsx-r only comes as a body set not the whole thing i believe
