BC's Custom 350Z
I finally got back to painting an Xmod, this time my new 350Z. I also did some custom work to the body kit. I added the mild body kit, but shaved off the bulky side flares, and shaved some of the front and rear air dams. I then slapped a custom paint job on her. It's a very subtle tribal style flame on the sides and the hood.

|
err i want a 350z body now, thanks alot their goes 40 bux... that paint is sick! were the flames and graphics painted on, or water slide? also what color is that exactly, would make a great candy base!
|
Thanks!
Everything was painted with rattle cans. ;) I used Tamiya Gun Metal for the flames and Light Gun Metal for the rest. Basically all I did was paint the body the color the flames were gonna be, then applied the masking in the shape of the flames, and then painted it the color of the rest. Finally removed the masking to reveal the flames and applied clear gloss. |
genious! hehe i did that on my mountain bike last year... hey bc i posted a thread with a question i was wonderin if you could take a look, lemme stop before gettin too off topic.

BC -
That is freakin' TIGHT. Probably one of the best I have seen on here. Tell me, what did you use to mask off the windows? You did a very good job. What kind of tape did you use? That seems to be the bad spot for most I have seen on here...the windows always look rough. |
I use Tamiya masking tape. It has very clean edges and is made just for modeling. Another key is to not wait until the paint completely dries before removing the tape, sometimes the paint edges will crack when fully dry. Very slowly pull the tape off when it is still kinda tacky.

Needs to go into the 350Z gallery. Awesome job as usual.
|
beautiful 350z BC!!!
|
hey BC where did you get those rims?

BC you just can't go wrong with your paint jobs. I love em all. I still feel tho it's a pitty that RS only used the square bodykits on the Z. I love the smooth Porche looking front ends, they look more like stock.
|
If you race that body, a lot of people here will want to kill you. THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!
