True xmod exterior modification final pics on pg 4!!

I finally got started on my body modification which is gonna change the way xmod is right now. So far it has a rear wide bodykit on the left side. Still need to do the fenders, hood and the front and rear bumpers. Gotta do a lot more sanding to make it smooth. I'll keep you guys updated. (still don't know if I should keep the wide bodykit, let me know if you like it or not.)http://hometown.aol.com/eckoballa2k3/xmod.html

jon.jon 03-26-2004 06:41 PM

looks great can wait to see the final results I was thinking of doing a wide body kit for my skyline but I didnt want to drive myself crazy trying to figure out how to widen the wheel base for the front and back

striker289 03-26-2004 06:44 PM

damn i like it

aznballa2k4 03-27-2004 08:32 AM

thanx

Thanks for the replies. I just added a new pic but the quality of the pic isn't that good compared to the others. It shows that it still needs more work on it.

Jon.Jon-Why would you want to make a WBK for your skyline when it has one?(well its pretty small.)

Joey 03-27-2004 08:39 AM

Sweetness.
Did you have to hand-sculpt it, or is there a mold you're using? It must be a pain to have to match congruent parts on each side if you're doing it manually.

meteoraclown 03-27-2004 12:29 PM

looks sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. if you feel like it, plz post a tut. on how to do it. i would like to have one for my skyline.

aznballa2k4 03-27-2004 04:02 PM

Its all done by hand. It's pretty easy to make each side symmetrical.(I've been doing this for a while. On my other models.) I don't know if you guys remember me from back then. I had a post that I was going to have something very crazy comming. But it turned out to be more of a dissing post on me and my friend that the moderator closed it from having replies. Also on that tutorial suggestion......sorry I'm too lazy. I decided to make a Buddy Club 2 front and mayber the rear also.

Like they say wider is better :D

aperson 03-27-2004 10:19 PM

so making the track a foot long would be better? all you'd need is some longer dogbones.

hot240sx93 03-28-2004 12:27 AM

lookin nice

lookin nice Kelvin....finish dat wbk kit up...and a buddy club 2 kit would definetly look hot on the rsx.....ill be startin ma supra soon...wit a full blitz bodykit and a functional hood and roof scoop

How exactly is this going to change the way Xmod is right now? Its a cosmetic upgrade...

aznballa2k4 03-28-2004 09:00 AM

everything else is only little paintjob or a body change from like a mini z or just a aftermarket bodykit that you can just buy from radioshack. mine is one of the kind which seperates it from everyone else here.

aznballa2k4 04-03-2004 05:58 PM

I just updated it with more progress pics. Its comming along pretty well right now. Starting the bumpers soon. http://hometown.aol.com/eckoballa2k3/xmod.html

dero 04-09-2004 09:34 PM

Nice job! Turn the wheels backward and/or add some washers to the front and rear axles to widen out the wheel base.

geofroley 04-10-2004 08:19 AM

That's some awesome stuff dude!! You should definetly consider selling these.

aznballa2k4 04-11-2004 12:51 AM

sorry but i don't sell any of my work. it isn't that hard to do anyways. anyone could do it. if you consider to do it then make sure it looks good and clean.

maxvelox03 04-17-2004 11:05 PM

Thats awesome man, would like to see it painted . . :D

aznballa2k4 04-17-2004 11:40 PM

Yeah I want to see it painted too but its been a while since I've touched it. Haven't had any time to work on it b/c of my job and other models.

XMODSaretheBEST 04-22-2004 09:28 PM

hey aznballa2k4, u go on the modifiers forum too huh?
yeah i saw ur car in the top ten thingy. It looked nice. I can imagine why ur so good at making custom exterior mods to ur car since u had a lot of practice with the modifiers. BTW, ur car looks cool. Can't wait to see it done.

impression_xmod 04-25-2004 09:54 PM

want to sell a wide body civic body? i'll pay you... say $30?

jakewulff@lycos.com

aznballa2k4 04-26-2004 02:23 PM

yeah i'm on the modifier forums. one of the top modders there. who are you on the forums?(if you signed up)
impression_xmod- money isn't a factor to me. i don't sell my work. sorry.

darkjester 05-03-2004 12:36 PM

if u look at the car without the whole front, in kinda looks like a celica

aznballa2k4 05-03-2004 02:38 PM

yeah i guess you could say it sorta resembles a celica body if you don't look at the front. they did a poor job on creating the rsx xmod. its not proportioned like the real ones.

skklown 05-04-2004 07:04 PM

when r u gonna be done with the rsx? i wanna see a painted and finished product

aznballa2k4 05-05-2004 02:20 PM

sorry for making you guys wait so long. i've just been too busy and not interested on working on it. hopefully i'll be done before school ends. so that'll be around june. early or late june. hopefully.

civic freak 05-17-2004 09:34 PM

I'm sorry i can not remember who said it but whoever said they want a wider stance i guess youd call it . i had an idea where you take a metal tube and then thread it somehow and then screw it on to the stock axle and then make the other end threaded and D-cut to put the nut and wheel on and then somehow make a stop so that the wheel would not slide, if you have no i dea what om talkin about just say so and ill draw a lil pic ok? ttyl bye 4 now

eLeMeNt_sK8er04 05-28-2004 10:40 PM

ya its great but........

Dude really nice......i did somthing like that wth my friend but we just like different body kits with mini z's and stuff by cutting the body line on the mini zs and putting model body kits. anyways........i need to know first what you used to make the car wider? My first guess would be a solid looking putty but i may be wrong. second of all i want to know what that one blue car is down there on the bottom of your page. cuase i cant tell what it is in the picture. well anyways keep up the good work and post a painted car pic soon!

Tiger51 05-28-2004 11:35 PM

If your goign to use a lot of putty, I"d recommend getting a second, 'racing' body. The putty not only weighs a ton when you start slathering it on, but it might start to flake and chip from racing abuse. I'm not sure on the flaking part, as I have not done it on an XMODs yet, but I do know how it acts in similar siuations on full size cars.

You mean like widebody?

aznballa2k4 06-23-2004 06:34 PM

well i'm back at it again!! finally got interested in workin on my rsx. its been a while. almost complete with the WBK and roof scoop. the rear is being smoothed out and being shaped so that i could make it into a buddyclub2 rear bumper. (in case you're wondering about the little front bumper in the last pic. its for my 1/43 scale model i was workin on. it shows what i can do to models.) anyways heres the pics http://hometown.aol.com/aznstrtlegend/newprogress.html

jon.jon 06-23-2004 06:49 PM

You just impress me more and more nice work:eek:
have you decided on a color yet?

aznballa2k4 06-23-2004 07:00 PM

hmmm....a color. i'm thinkin on a blue. but i'm not sure. i got this metallic blue that i'm gonna test out on the wing. other than that....no clue. i need a really good color that flows with the car and makes it look mean.

aznballa2k4 06-26-2004 12:53 AM

heres something new i've started. these are pics of the hood. the reason i showed this early progress was to show the people who don't believe that this is real hand made work and for those who never seen it before. by the next time i show this i'll have the hood done and the rear started. well heres the link. http://hometown.aol.com/aznstrtlegend/xmodhood.html

aznballa2k4 07-18-2004 11:49 PM

got kinda bored today so i decided to do some side work to my rsx. got some custom rims i made to fit on it. don't really matter if others done it before me. didn't actually need new rims but i need new tires. the tires that came with it would always come off. so i decided to get i from my revell integra. personally i think its a lot better and more realistic. the tires hasn't come off yet. the down side is that i only have one set of 4 tires. and the other thing i did was the springs. if you look closely theres a silver spring inside the blue ones. no clue if it gives it any increase in performance. i hope to clean it up this week and get it ready to be painted. i'll still be working on the front/rear bumper and hood. other than that i think its gonna be finished in a couple more months. might do some side work to it so that it'll have better performance. http://hometown.aol.com/aznstrtlegend/customrims.html

chinkst3r 07-19-2004 01:01 AM

crazy rims

hey, did u get those rims off of the revel integra? bcause i got those and i was trying to make them work and could not figure a way to mount them...as soon as i got it mounted i couldnt get it to spin with the car...(it spun...but doesnt move on its own...)if you could show me how you did it, and what size drill u used that would be great

aznballa2k4 07-19-2004 02:25 PM

yes i got the rims from a revell integra. the only difference was that i painted it black. its actually pretty easy to make it fit and spin like the regular ones. all i used for this was a round file,
x-acto knife and a dart. i just forced the dart into the back of the rim and made a small hole. take he x-acto knife and scrape the inside so that the hole would be bigger. use the round file and file the hole bigger. make sure to keep testing it to see if it fits on perfectly.just has to be tight enough so it won't seem loose. hmmm.... and your problem with it spinning with the car....you might have overtighten the nut when you put the wheel back on. not sure if that actually help you out but you could just instant message me on my aim if you want me to help you out better. my sn is aznstrtlegend

aznballa2k4 07-23-2004 03:44 PM

just painted the body and letting it dry right now. candy apple red paint. as u can see theres a lot of "orange peel" not finished with that yet. gotta wet sand it tonight so it'll be really smooth. well here it is. some more progress. http://hometown.aol.com/aznstrtlegend/paintjob.html

skklown 07-23-2004 10:33 PM

looks awesome so far

Geckoboy 07-23-2004 11:42 PM

nice....very nice....cant wait to see more

aznballa2k4 07-26-2004 03:30 PM

well here it is. all windows painted and stuff. just need to clear coat it and then work on the bumpers and hood. http://www.picturetrail.com/aznballa2k3
