I keep breaking axles
everytime i hook up 6 cells to my xmods i break the dogbone axles..and i can't get an AWD Set anywhere in my city. anyone got a solution for me? is there any metal dogbones out there?
radio shack does not currently make better axles. where do you live? if you cant get the AWD in ur city then order it online. i currently have a non working white supra x mod. its the 5th one that i have owned. im getting to tired of getting new ones every time they break so i just use my mini :bdrop: :blift: :bdrop: :blift: :bdrop: :blift: :bdrop: :blift:

* mini Z

5? i've been through 11 cars. all of them either stopped working all together or something happened to the steering.
I just got a mini z and am quite happy w/ it
plus mr01 readysets were 99.95 at my lhs so figured why not? |
craftsman is selling metal cup joints.
$18.00 a set http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=16718 |
11! thats crazy. just buy a over lander.they run great, are extremely durable, and are way faster then x mods. ive had my OL for a year now and havent run into any problems.
i just called the 1800 number and i ordered 4 sets of axles. they were only a dollar something each.
...
Just buy the metal doohickeys...

geez 11 cars... thats uhh... 550 dollars! my broken axle count is 2 u-joints. both of them were left ones.
no no no. ive been through 11 broken cars, not bought 11 cars. dont want people to think im rich or something. cant you tell by my avatar, i have to resort to brake cleaner and torches for fun out here in the middle of nowhere
So these cars have plastic dogbones and cups??? Man thats not cool. The only parts that have broken on my mini Z are the standard plastic H plate and the servo gears. These have been upgraded, the only thing that breaks now is the shell.
wow so with all the broken parts we could all get mini z's:p
I could have had a nitro R/C by now...but the XMODS are fun.
I broke a cup joint and three of my friends broke theirs all in the same day.
I think the next upgrade from RS needs to be cup joints and dogbones in aluminum. I would rather have good parts that work than new bodies or any other upgrade. I haven't broken anything on my mini-z. Unless you count the left mirror. |

They really stick out there. Mine hasn't arrived yet. I bought it from dinball, and them being in Hong Kong, I guess it's on the slow boat. lol I going nuts waiting on it. |
craftsman's parts are worth it. I have them on my 6 celled RSX(now shorted)and now my Civic.
I have aluminum cups on my cars now too. Upgrading parts is really adding to the cost of xmoding. $18 for cups, $20, bearings, $16 stage 2 motors, $9 tire upgrade, $50 for the car and in my opinion these are all must have upgrades. Your total is up to $113. That $50 xmod isn't so cheap anymore. I am starting to think your better off leaving the car stock and not upgrading anything. Just enjoy it for what it is a $50 rc car.
If you want to keep it stock don't try a 6 cell mod. You will not want to run 4 cells anymore.
Been there done that back in October.
i tried 6 cell. got pissed off cause my car flipped over so many times and the added weight killed my off the line. and i couldnt stand the wait for the batts to charge. (what you get when you have a charger that only charges 4 batts) im happier with a lighter lower powered car:)
isn't 4 cells boring?
I run on the rcp wide L track. Without a doubt a bone stock stage 1 would take a souped 5 or 6 cell car any day. After 10 flips and only 5 laps the stock car would have lapped you at least three times. My fastest set up is stage 2 drift w/ ic3 bats. This car consistantly beats a hopped up 180 hpi 45t motored civic.
nope, i run on tight courses and i prefer handling over power. id be happier with some lithium batts tho.:D
I haven't even raced on a track.
Where can I find out more about tracks around my area? I just run my 6 celled Civic in parking lots and my back yard. |
i race around paper cups lol. kinda like little inexpensive cones.:p
