Mounting Bodies
How are you guys mounting your mini-z bodies?
ditto
i mounted a viper body by cutting an aluminum sheet, folding one end to form a clip, and it is liquid nailed from the middle of the roof (underneath the car for looks) and bends over to the clip area... for the front, since Mini-z front thing where you place the nose of the car on the xmod, is slightly larger than that of the xmods, i put 2 plastic pieces in the left and right sides to fit to size, and center. the length of the rear aluminum clip determines the height of the body.
so far, the audi tt, viper, s2000, 360spider, and z8 bodies fit, as i personally fitted all of them. the only two i ran into a problem with are the enzo and the rx7 (this one fits, but without battery clips) |
Okay thanks. can u give me a link where i can find mini-z bodies:)
the bodies fit good? or is there extra space?
they all fit well, with the exception of the enzo and rx7
i think mini-z are 1/28 just like xmods, so they fit accordingly |
Ok........
I mounted a Z body on my mod that the mounting can be removed if you want to use the stock moutning again as well.

!?
wait, is that Enzo As in Enzo Ferrari!?
also, is that body the calsonic Acura NSX?
Wow great prices on a couple of them. Just ordered a black audi tt for 4.99 and a red s2000 for 6.49!!!!
hey where did u get it from? if its a website can u give me the link:)
go to the tower hobbies link mentioned above.
The Enzo Mini-Z body will never fit properly on an XMod without creating a longer chassis. The mid-engine 2nd generation Mini-Z has a longer wheelbase than the XMods and first generation Mini-Z.
...........
Darklancer,
No the body is a Calsonic Skyline R34. Its the same as you avatar, but not a Xanvai. |

Those Mini Z bodies are about to blow another hole in my wallet :( |
Great Tutorial!
Box,
Great tutorial on the Mini-z body mounting. I'm ordering a new Calsonic body, mine is beat and they just look great when they're new, and I'm going to use your method for mounting it. On my first one, I foolishly used double stick tape to mount the xmod rear bracket to the rear windshield. To anyone reading this, DON'T DO THIS! First bad head on collision resulted with the body flying off and the windshield glass being left on the Xmod. That rear bracket attached to the wing screws is far superior! |
