This guy trying to screw people
Watch out for people like this on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2565 This guy is an ass he is trying to sell this item for 3 times its going retail price. |
hey, if you can make a profit, do it!
|
Anyone dumb enough to buy it deserves to get ripped off.
|
Bahh i just saw the same thing..he also offers cutsom paint for 30
|
Anything that I purchase I research. I find out what price range is standard and go from there. I have seen the same item on e-bay listed as NEW with a price difference (Closing Auction Price) of more than $300.00. If someone just buy's it because it is listed on e-bay, let them! At this point (At least in MY area) I could probably sell an AWD kit for $25.00-$30.00. All the RadioShack stores in the area (10+) are compleatly OUT. And Online is out too! Give it a look: AWD kit @ Radioshack.Com The price should be whatever the buyer is willing to pay! Not everything is available in all areas. Not everyone knows how to use Google & other search engines to research, so if they are willing to pay, or are to lazy to go elsewhere, then they deserve to overpay!
|
Catch a fool, bump his head....It is not his fault that people are stupid enough to buy from him.
|
people dont have to buy it yah no, anyways its prolly for he people who cant get x-mods
|
lol
lol I didn't read all off the description, I thought he said the lights will change colors, not paint the car..lol  I doubt that anybody would buy it w/o doing research, I mean you gotta be incrediblly stupid or incrediblly desprate to buy something at that price
|
Anyone remember all the Xbox "boxes" that were going on ebay for hundreds when the xbox first came out? At least you get a product here. This is nothing! :D :D
|
Im a seller on ebay, also a buyer. I do research on everything i buy and sell. I have sold some things on here that go for crazy amounts and even more than what a store sells things for. Someone will always buy it, no matter what the price. If I have a product on ebay that in a big city sells for 5 bucks and I take that same product to a rural community, I know they will pay more for it because its harder to get it there. Its a premium. There are many reasons why someone would pay higher for something on the net rather than at a store because its easier. Less hassle. and they always know its availiable and they dont have to wait to see if it comes in on the next truck. They want it now, not when RS decides to stock it.
|
I can see a buck or 2
I can see making a little profit but 3 times what it is worth that ia bs . How would you feel if your little bro or sis bought one of these? I think you would be peeved. This is just wrong. I cannot believe everyone here is thinking it is okay to screw people. That is greed and greed is bad.
|
he isnt doing anyhting wrong....whoever wants to buy the lights should do some reaserch before they go and get it off ebay
|

Actually, Id prob smack my little bro or sis upside the head and tell them they are stupid for not asking me first!!!! LOL Heck I even have friends now that do research online before they even purchase things locally retail now. If they find it cheaper with S/H? or the same price but with many more choices, then great. If anyone pays way too much for something, well hey, thats there prob. They were born with a brain...If its still in good working order, then use it! At least thats my opinion. OOOPs! Oh Yeah, I'm not opinionated....HEHEHE |
I know you may agree with him but read this
This is what I wrote him...
How many command logic kits do you get for your price? Just wondering why people want to screw others when you can buy them all day long for 6.99 at radio shack. And 5.00 shipping i cannot believe they let people like you on ebay. This was his reply..... I'm kinda curious as to why you're so damn bored you're wasting your time harassing people on eBay...These kits are sold out in many locations and if people are willing to pay to obtain them who the hell am I to say no?? Frankly, many of the auctions on eBay right now have the product package clearly displayed with the price visible and the auctions are reaching well over store price. If you had any literary skills you could have read my auction and easily come to the conclusion that there is only one item per auction, however you decided to just email me with an ignorant question in hopes of satisfying some underlying intelligence issue where you have proven something that is quite obvious to someone who could clearly give a rats ass less. I am quite aware that these lights cost 7.99, but for some reason when I list them for $15 people buy them. Kinda like a Nissan Skyline that sold stock for $91, I didn't make the people bid on the damn thing, they took matters into their own hands in what is typically called an auction scenario. Either people want to pay the price or they don't, either it's worth it or it's not. If I listed the stupid things for $100 would you still have emailed me? No one would bid, big deal. I listed them for $15 and people bid, move on. Quite frankly, you're lucky I didn't send a Trojan along with this email and wipe your whole life out just for wasting my f@#kin time. I would take this warning to heart mister eBay police guy, mind your own g#d damn business and let business remain business. If you don't want to pay the fifteen dollars for the lights, then good move man, but why take you precious time to basically email me and let me know that you know. First impressions are a b#tch, and yours has led me to believe that you're in a dead end job living with your crippled mom wishing you could make a difference in the world. Unfortunately, this is not your day soldier. Carry on. |
geez
What a jackhole. I can't believe his feedback rating is so high. Report his arse to ebay and send them that e-mail. Tell e-bay that you felt "threatened" by his reply and they'll give him the royal steel-toe to the buttox.
Don't lose faith. I just bought a new watch on ebay for half-price of what any-of the online stores sold it for. |
Thanks monster
I am a seller on ebay and i just sent them the e mail. I have sent people additional items when i thought they were paying too much. I do not screw people i am 29 yrs old and have learned what comes around goes around. I bet a few people will have changed their minds after reading his reply to my e mail
|
He should not have threatned you, however he has the right to sell whatever he wants and ask however mutch he wants for it. If I wanted to sell my Marvin The Martian Leather Jacket, and listed that it is well worn and contains holes, and I asked $200.00 for it, I have the right to do that. And the buyer's have a right to NOT BID! I have seen people sell CD's of stuff that they downloaded off of the internet. They have things in the description like, "Contains Unregistered Shareware, game demos, and other assorted software, Utils & Games" and I have seen the CD's go for as low as $10.00 and as high as $45.00. All they are is a CD-R that they burned themselves. If I wanted to do that, then more power to me! As long as he is not selling damaged/broken goods as new then there is no problem. He should be allowed to sell as whatever price he feels the marked can handle. If he were to list the lights for $50.00, let him. If some looser pays $50.00 for them, let them! If YOU do not like the price then do not bid! Just like if there is something on TV that you do not approve of, do not watch. It is just that simple.
|
That does not matter. If he is not missrepresenting what it is, then there is no problem. If he is lying about what it can do, such as "Improves speed and gives you longer running times" then that would be a problem, and his auction should be shut down, however as long as he is not missrepresenting the product, then he can ask whatever he wants for it. Even if it is an old moldy bananna that Elvis ate half of, as long as it is true, then let it be.

I am not saying.
I am not saying he doesn't have the right to sell what he wants. i am saying that by doing that he makes himself and the whole ebay community look lie a bunch of crooks. I also believe that this is supposed to be a fun hobby.
When others see this they see it as an opportunity to take advantage and buy the stuff that you and I have been trying to get. They buy in bulk and essentially hog it all then try to make a profit off of the people who are trying to have fun. This is what makes a hobby not fun. I can afford this stuff some people cannot. 50.00 for a car is great. i just do not like it when these people justify it by saying, " somebody charged xx dollars for this thing" so he saw it and said no I can screw too. How many people see his auction and will try to do the same thing. Thses are not one off items like "RC Butlers" is selling they are everyday items. I remember they had the same problem with "Tickle me Elmo" and I bought a "Princess Barbie" for my neice but only paid 5.00 more than retail on ebay. Not almost triple. I know people are having a hard time trying to see what point I am getting across. I guess some never will until they get screwed. I am trying to inform the people who read this that there are people out there who will do everything in their power to take advantage of a cost effective rc car and turn in into a money pit. and on and on and on......... |

Why care? Really...it's a free country. If you want to make a difference then let people know what your solution is and your positive progress. Don't whine about. I could buy those products all day long and sell them over the internet. If I liked you and came to trust you through this forum I would buy those things at the local stores here and send them to you at cost. I understand that this is a forum but don't turn it into something it doesn't have to be. I have a piece of crap x-mod now that's been taken apart a hundred times and I still can't fix it. I would send that piece of crap anywhere if some one was willing to pay for it.
|
If you were so worried that someone was getting screwed. Why not inform the highest bidder than the seller?
Also one very STUPID idea to come out of this is: The purchaser WILL NOT have a warranty of any kind which they would have if the bought from Radio Shack. As far as the purchaser goes: On a personal level though, I think the guy is greedy, yes. He is the type that takes advantage of others ignorance. Sorta "anti-cooperative" if you will. His feeble excuse that people pay these prices is just that, an excuse. Logically though, he cannot be faulted for supply and demand. EDIT: Whats wrong with the xmod you have bye bye? |
LOL

Yes that was an actual email he sent me
Yes that was pasted and copied directly from my hotmail. I do not want to interfere with his auctions I just want him to know that there may be a little bit of wrong doing. He obviously feels a tad guilty from the response he gave me. If I would have mailed the high bidder I would have been violating ebay rules. I asked him 2 questions and never threatened or used vulgar language. The tinyrc members have seemed to change opinion a little after reading his letter to me. And yes the warranty issue should be looked at too.
|
i dont see why its a big deal. in america we have supply and demand. its what makes business go. and we also with ebay there are vast amounts of people that bid on items. if someone cant get the light kit where they live and they want to get it on ebay, so this guy charges 15 bucks. if the demand is right people will pay it. as he said the retail price is printed on the package so he's not ripping them off. they're ripping them selves off. its not a big deal if some one isnt smart enought to drive down to radioshack for the light kit. if they want to pay the extra buck its there fault. if you had a light kit and someone told you that they'd give you 15bucks for it would you say, "no, i want to give it to you for 6"?
|
its people like him that make me want to become a hitman.
|
Not really
if you had a light kit and someone told you that they'd give you 15bucks for it would you say, "no, i want to give it to you for 6"?
I do not know I wouldn't screw somebody i am not saying i would double or tripple it but i may add a little on for my trouble. If it was the last one in the world of course otherwise I would tell them to go and get one from rs for a better price and a warranty. I have a conscience i guess. |
Kubrel, don't hate because you didn't think of it first.
|
jacked up prices???
Ok, Heres the scenario. You are complaining that someone started bidding at $16.00 for a light kit right? You say that is robery and he is screwing people. Well as we have stated in here to you its the BUYERS perogative to pay it. Heres what I found on Ebay....Another seller, Starting his bid at a measly $2.99. There has been 14 bids and it is now up to $15.50 and still has over a day left. Here is the auction number if you dont beleive me.
3167832705 To make it easier, here is the link to the auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2565 So, what you consider as screwing people, It is actually commerce at its best. You dont have to pay it, but someone else will. |
I do not hate
# 1 I do not hate him. I was trying to make a point. I enjoy r/c hobbying and hope others do as well. I just think ( and this is my opinion ) that when this happens regardless of the item, it make it not enjoyable for the guy who can barely afford it. Greed is what I see. Greed is bad! I understand commerce I just think that too many people are trying to stick up for this clown. Now if someone starts out at a lower dollar amt and it gets high. Well of course that is an auction scenario. But when someone intentionally screws people and justifies it by saying " Well someone else did it" Than that is weak. I know what he is doing is not illegal it is greedy. And in my mind greed is bad. The only way I have to feel better is to tell people as yourselves in a forum where it will be hopefully read by a ton of people. I hope this explains. I just try to do the right thing. Sometimes you hold a door for an elderly person and sometimes you just do what you can. I am not higher or mightier or even more skilled than anyone here. I am just stating my opinion. I hope this helps any misunderstanding. todd
|
It's called supply and demand. If none of the Shaks around your home have what you need, you may be willing to pay a little/lot more for something. If E-Bay is the only refuge, well then you have to pay the price. You could also look at it from the sellers standpoint....He's giving someone an opportunity to get something they could otherwise not obtain, regardless of price.
|
You are the one who made this thread and asked our opinions. I dont think anyone is sticking up for this clown. We are sticing up for what we beleive. We beleive in fair trade, supply and demand, and free commerce. Instead of picking on this guy, you should divert your energy into something usefull like geting car dealorships to sell their cars cheaper. Thay are using supply and demand. You cant tell me it costs $40,000 to build a surburban or 75,000 for a Porshe. No, but someone out there will pay it. just like those lights. I enjoy cars and hope others do as well. SO, according to you, its making it not enjoyable because I cant afford these? no. If you cant afford $16.00 plus shipping and handling, then go to your local RS and if they dont have them in stock, they will order them in and they will ship them to your house. You just pay S/H on them also. If you still cant afford that...then just wait till they do become avail. again at the RS and get them without the S/H charge.
|
Demand from car dealers
I think you may need to do your homework if you want to really want to find out the reasons cars are sold for so much. It is called the "Union" . If you want to know more I can explain it. But to give you a small taste there are problems at the assembly plants and these cost dollars to fix. Do you really believe we need to go to the dealership to have recalls fixed. They should be fixed at the factory. This is only a little part of the rising prices for cars. I am sorry but if you are going to compare it to something yyou will need to compare it to greed.
|
Im not talking about the factory. I said the dealorship. so there is no UNION. not around here anyways. and yes the factory should fix the recalls. Do you know if A dealership fixes a warranteed or recalled part on a vehicle, they charge the manufacturer the same as a regular customer? Oh yes. Dont even get me started on that. thias is not the place. And for you to say that its justifiable for them to charge what they do for a rig is proposterous. Look at this. When My wife and I went to the local Chevy truck/car dealership and purchased our brand new Chevy 1 ton 4x4 extended cab that they quoted $31,000 for the price. I haggled them down to $27,000. Then after them saying they couldnt go any lower, i said we would pay cash. WOW did that change things, (we had received a settlement) No financing? no trade in to jack the prices up? I said they needed to make it worth my while to drive a Chevy from them or I would get a Dodge from the dealer across the street, I drove home with my new truck for $24,000.
Now talk about greed, that was a $7,000 drop in price that they didnt loose money. Plus they get my $2,000 dollar rebate from chevy. What do you say now? Thats not greed? It damn sure isnt UNION workers in there. |
This has gone on long enough and has gotten way off the topic of XMODS.
