They're all available on the internet, and you can burn them to DVD...but sure, if you'd rather have a clear conscience about the whole thing, or you're a dial-up slave...
I wouldn't be surprised if there was an FC3S XMODS in a year or two - worked for ZipZaps. |

Bearshare is garbage; I found them with no problem whatsoever on Kazaa Lite. And Kazaa is under a bunch of fire, so it's losing users all the time to smaller networks like Shareaza and WinMX. Try any of those, you'll find whatever it is you're looking for. |
Aww man i would have asked my parents to get me this for christmas ehh I guess i will wait till March LUCKY!!!

Anyways the Initial D is a great racing anime and definitely worth the money for it. I have seen all of stage 1, stage 2, extra stage, and stage 3 through fansubs and I am still going to pick it up on dvds as they get released. |
Cool I saw Ver. 2 at the beach but didn't have a dollar to play. How do you get the cards?
|
after your first race they offer u a card for another $1.00 if I'm not mistaken (I haven't played it in a couple of months).

Initial D rocks!!! It's one of my most favourite anime ever :D Does anyone know of any other racing anime? (apart from Speed Racer :) )

Okay, how did I miss this topic. This is my area of expertise. For Mr. Becker, other racing series: Well they're hard to come by..eX Driver is a pretty nice one and is easy to collect, its not really a pure racing series, but none the less its driving action. I've got it too and I must say its pretty decent. Short, but good. Wangan Midnight is an okay manga series, as is OverRev, if you know how to read Japanese. Yes, these boxed sets are all bootlegs, but hey, I'd rather buy it than that Tokyopop BS. They really have no idea how many people they've pissed off. I've got the whole series too, got mine all from www.discountanimedvd.com , one at a time. I'll do quick reviews (and I do mean quick.)
Initial D Tv Series vol. 1 boxed set: Aw yeah, the OG. The animation and character designs isin't really..um..good. But you tend to ignore it once you get into the story, the CG used for the cars more than makes up for it. Although, it seems to really look awkward during daytime scenes. This ones a must own. (Derr.) Initial D Second Stage boxed set: Got it for christmas, it wasn't as long as the first season, but I loved it! Every moment of it! The CG, character design, and animation all got shots in the arm and were back and much much better. The story was pretty good (Damn Emperors..) and there was really nothing to complain about..although, it seems the anime series is VERY dodgy on outright saying what Natsuki and Papa have been doing (though its obvious...damn Natsuki..nah..I can't say that, she's still good..) Second Stage had this emotional feel to it that really gets to you, and was overall my favorite Initial D Third Stage the movie: Um, well, the CG rocked, but the compression in the dvd left things looking a little squished at times, but its easy to ignore. The soundtrack wasn't hardly as good as the previous two installments had, but this was a great movie and a fair enough "ending" (don't worry, it'll be back) to the series. Initial D Extra Stage: Uh..hm. It was...okay. Not exactly action packed so to speak, and I think its supposed to happen sometime during Second Stage, as a kind of side story thing. It had approximately one race, and also, Mako Satou's boobs. I liked it, but I can live without it. Initial D Battle Stage: You've seen this before, its nothing new. Don't bother unless you're a completist, its basically just a remix of a couple of the battles with the movies CG and a new soundtrack. Nothing to speak of to add to the series. Man I love Initial D ^_^, its my like, second favorite thing on earth, and I am sooo jealous of you guys with the arcade game..all I've managed to play is Wangan Midnight =/, but I'll be flip-topping the PS2 soon and importing Initial D Special Stage so I can have the arcade game at home. As for getting a car from the series..the Trueno..I'd be careful..thats why I'm getting an RX-7. An FD or an FC, I don't care which, I'll have one. Takahashi Brothers forever indeed :D |
whoa i couldnt even read all that might be short attention span but it kept me interested but i hate reading

RX-7 is a great car, the only thing is that the 13B is a gas hog. Rotaries, as a general rule of thumb, aren't daily drivers, but you can pick up a good condition 95/96 for between 12 and 15 thousand. The engine in the RX7 is also iffy, just go around looking at RX7s on the web and a lot of them will have had to swap engines at 70K miles. Just don't tell me you want the car just because it's in the show. Take another look at the many other imports on the market, especially the 300ZX and 3K. I mean 15K$ is a lot of money to drop on an older car with 60-70K miles. Even check out domestics. If you really insist on buying a car just for "drifting" I'm sure a v8 Mustang, Camaro, or Trans am can beat the pants off a RX7. BTW can someone explain to me why the team with the black R32 Skyline calls themselves the "Night Kids". That is by far the gayest name I have ever heard of. I'm sure that they were called something that sounded much cooler in the original version. |
I've just got a thing for RX-7's, but yeah, I knew about the engine and gas guzzling troubles, luckily I live near RX-7 specialty shops that can fix stuff, so if I got one, that'd be one of my first stops. I'd even go for an RX-8.., you read my mind on the 300ZX thing, thats my "backup car" if the whole RX-7 thing dosen't work out. Either that or one of the many 240SX offerings (I'd like to JDM one of the late model ones into an S14 Silvia). V8's are against my religion though ^_^, and um, yep, they're the Miyogi Night Kids, suprisingly thats something Tokyopop didin't manage to screw up, they were always called that. I dunno, it sounds kinda cool to me. Although it does make you think of a bunch of Hot Topic kids driving Skylines and EG6's around..*shrug*
|
the only cars the night kids used as far as ive read was the hatchback civic sir and the skyline, but theres more i just didnt get to it yet
|
You never really see much of the Miyogi Night Kids second stringers, but I'm pretty sure in the series it was just a couple of 180's, RX-7's, Evos, and etc..I'll make sure next time I watch those episodes to watch for the other cars..every now and then you notice one that suprises you (like the Redsuns' Supra.)

Yeah, the big rumor is that the next season of Initial D will air in Japan sometime this spring, so expect fansubs to pop up sometime afterwards, since the manga dosen't stop where Third Stage the Movie does, and keeps going, it is likely that it'll be about the Project D team of Ryosuke's..(no spoiling it for those who don't know), where the manga kept going.
|
i'm sorry, i kind of live under a rock. what is the deal with initial d? is it manga or anime?
|
its both and it got soundtracks 2
|
Guess what. Its back, this April in Japan, Initial D's 4th session will begin to air. It seems they're showing it on a pay-per-view type affair, so it may take a while for the dvd sets and whatnot to arrive (Episodes one and two are in April..while three and four are in May!), but paitence, and we shall see it.
