Mr BigShot 12-15-2003 01:48 PM

LOL

:D Glow sticks make nice neons :D

xxspeednplayaxx 12-15-2003 01:57 PM

how did u get flames??? and how did u pop out ur lights like that

Snow 12-15-2003 09:11 PM

So what does this have to do with nitrous exactly?

rmyc 12-15-2003 11:57 PM

nothing really, just that in FnF they portrayed the flames as nirous... nope this is not actual nos

Snow 12-16-2003 12:36 AM

So basically it was just a marketing gimmick on your part?

rmyc 12-16-2003 01:48 AM

i dont get what u mean by "marketing gimmick".... obviously it dosen't have nos..
but it has a simulated nos flamethrower.... that resembles the nos flamethrowers on the cars from 2F2F

xxspeednplayaxx 12-16-2003 06:12 AM

lol so how did u pop out ur lites like that?

gimmick:

A device employed to cheat, deceive, or trick, especially a mechanism for the secret and dishonest control of gambling apparatus.
An innovative or unusual mechanical contrivance; a gadget.

An innovative stratagem or scheme employed especially to promote a project: an advertising gimmick.
A significant feature that is obscured, misrepresented, or not readily evident; a catch.
A small object whose name does not come readily to mind.

rmyc 12-16-2003 04:20 PM

i duuno what ur point is...there is no marketing gimmick
those are actual pictures , and that's how the item realy looks like

Snow 12-16-2003 05:24 PM

I was just defining "marketing gimmick" for you since you said you didn't have any idea what I meant. You stated that you included the word "NOS" because the movie 2F2F associated NOS with flamethrower exhaust. This is considered a marketing gimmick.

pacificwarriors 12-16-2003 05:28 PM

This is the only problem with tinyrc people like snow go and try to do this to people, as the old saying goes "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all" (man I sound like my mom). Personally I think that his so called "gimmick" is a pretty cool gimmick, there is only 2 made and I really wish I had a xmod so I could get 1 of these "gimmicks"

theMonster 12-16-2003 06:05 PM

clever

I think it's quite clever....not worth the $23 that it's up to on ebay right now, but none-the-less it's pretty cool looking.

All I did was ask a simple question about why he included the word "NOS" in his ebay advertisement/description. I never said anything derogatory, and I never said a marketing gimmick was a bad thing. All I did was ask for clarification. If you think I was saying anything mean, then you are reading too much into it.

AUDI-TT 12-16-2003 07:07 PM

ok lets stop arguing like little girls before anyones feeling gets hurt....

how did u make that, they just look like flames right so its cool to the touch, how would that work... some sick stuff yoo
nice work

wasuri 12-16-2003 07:42 PM

I totally agree with Audi-TT you guys need to stop beaching. Yes beaching.

Anyways I WAS about to post something about this...i was thinking id my new project but its effing $20+.....forget that! lol ill wait till you come out with more.

But anyways a awesome project would be to make the simluated nos on the controller (always on low throttle trim then have the bottom wired to the back for the hi throt trim) and rig the exhaust light up to the pbc somehow or splice the light....anyways but make it so whenever you hit the button for hi throt trim it would like the exhaust up...Now THAT would make a sweet ask xmod (yes i said ask)

rmyc 12-16-2003 07:45 PM

yeah it some pretty sick stuff...it came out right by accident i tried to copy it but it hard to get it to look as real as the fist one...
like the saying goes the first one is usual the best one....

ay snow it cool that ur giving ur opinion..i dont mind:D

Hey man I'm glad you understand what I was saying. Anyway, my opinion is that it looks very, very cool. I thought it was actually flames until I read the info about it, and I'm impressed that you found an LED that color and that brightness. Good job on that mod.:)

lckyrocket 12-17-2003 08:32 AM

Is the flame always out? Like is the flame plastic?

MicroRCEngineering 12-17-2003 09:34 AM

Hey Snow,

With all jokes aside, tell me what you think of this ad. I don't want to have any gimmicks so here it is: 3165289061

It is on the auction ad.

2fast4u 12-17-2003 03:32 PM

i saw the item it has a special material resembeling fire and a bright blue led

charliebrown 12-17-2003 04:01 PM

Looks like pretty straightforward, no BS advertising to me. I like the whole "All NML hand crafted motors are numbered (registered), initialed and dated, to guarantee authenticity, due to immitators/imposters who will do anything to deceive buyers, and is guaranteed to meet or exceed your expectations." It'd be pretty cool to have a numbered, one of a kind motor. And the three month warranty is nice.

suprafreak33 12-17-2003 10:12 PM

cool

geofroley 12-19-2003 05:35 PM

I'm a little skeptical. How is the flame produced? What fuels it?? By the way a nitrous injection in a real car wouldn't send flames out of the exhaust.

theMonster 12-19-2003 06:59 PM

geofroley

um, it's just an led with a special plastic lens on the end of the tailpipe, no real flame....4 looks only...still pretty neat though..

R33E8 12-25-2003 03:53 PM

Wow! 165.50?!?! Thats like 3 xmods!! Or a mini z.. Or a used micro RS4

rmyc 12-25-2003 05:46 PM

yup :D

but the second one i posted isn't as high http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3166084808 but it's still pretty good ... i guess by the time i post the 5th or 6th one it'lll be cheap enough for every one to afford

R33E8 12-25-2003 07:08 PM

Yeah they probaly didn't. Anyways its still wicked cool!:D Looks like somebody got a starting bonus;). And we finnaly have a seller that acctauly talks on forums and dosn't sign up to boast about his products and not answer questions!! Yaaaa!!

rmyc 12-26-2003 02:19 AM

:D

yeah i'm one of this forum's old timers..i must have the record for the most visits to the least posts ratio...hahahahh

Snow 12-26-2003 09:25 AM

Congrats.:)

striker289 12-27-2003 09:17 PM

$165.50 U got $165.50 for a that well more power too u. i think that if someone took the time they could make dat themselfs for like 5 bucks.

rmyc 12-27-2003 10:10 PM

well not really.... i'm still waiting for the guy's monyorder.. ...mebe i'll end up with - $6.00(ebay fees)
hahaha well i hope not :D

pbmax 12-27-2003 11:46 PM

You've got a great racket going, rmyc! :D I mean that in a good way. An innovative idea that's bringing in much much more than it costs to construct it.

Now, how about mass production? International marketing? Superbowl advertising? :D :D

Seriously though, I hope the guy pays on the first one. dead-beat bidders SUCK. Only item I've ever tried to sell was won by a dead-beat bidder (and I still have it today).

On the bright side, the 2nd one's up to $77!

QPizzle 12-28-2003 02:25 PM

HOLY F##KING MARKETING GENIUS... i thought the 77$ was high, then i saw the 165$ one. LOL. on that first one you probably made 33X profit. that alone is hilarious. you must love these ebay idiots who pay 165$ for a 5$ mod, and 80$ for a 20$ motor. lol. im gonna start selling my XMOD BODY KIT BUILDER SUBSTANCE! (modelling clay.)

and on a realer note... no one has seemed to ask this yet, what did you use? like just a clear vinyl sheet?

hehe i just made my own flamethrower and it fits without glue :P its exactly like the one you see on ebay. i wont sell mine tho cause i dont want to benefit from someone elses orig. idea.

itsme 12-28-2003 05:06 PM

!

Idea!!! You know all this splicing with the leds from the light kit? You could make an exhaust tip led thing. Just drill a hole through a bodykit exhaust and put in an led thats been sharpied. It'll go brighter with the black wired one on full power...that'd look cool but I don't have a drill.... I could make money, is this idea used?

QPizzle 12-28-2003 05:18 PM

dude... this whole TOPIC IS ABOUT AN LED EXHAUST. and yes his throttle powered idea is in his eBay ad. do not steal it and sell this as your own because you would be con.
