POLL AT www.zipzaps.com VERY IMPORTANT!!!

You must go to the zipzaps website and vote for World Rally or we may never see them on Zip Zaps!

ViperKid 12-05-2003 01:24 PM

they don't pay attention to those things anyway

Racer9 12-05-2003 02:20 PM

Then why have it?

ViperKid 12-05-2003 03:06 PM

who knows? maybe just for kicks:)

some RS people may look at it, but lets say world rally gets all the votes it doesn't mean they'll make a WRX zip zap.

besides Nascar is alot more popular in the U.S. even if it is a dumb form of racing:D

just my $.02

rfnagel 12-05-2003 04:23 PM

First of all, NASCAR rules! -:) Second of all, I voted for it -:) -:)

NatakuARN 12-05-2003 04:34 PM

I voted for rally, cooler cars and much more fun to watch.

WHAT?!!?!?!?! You chose NASCAR over rally? Are you insane??? Rally rocks my socks!!!! But NASCAR?? NASCAR sucks, all they do is race in circles, and all the guys racing are red-necks (no offense).

I hate to tell ya this, but stock car racing is some of the fastest, most exciting racing there is. Ovals especially, are pure strategy; whereas rally racing is simply give 'er hell and go. I must admit 'tho, I like rally racing much better than any open-wheel racing... nowhere on the earth can you see 4-wide at 180+ MPH -:)

'Nuther thing, I have one seeeevere dislike of all of them "fureign" cars. -:)

/////////////NASCAR all the way, baby!

slotsurfer 12-05-2003 10:21 PM

I voted for WRC. If they start making Nascar Zipzaps I will be really ticked off.Nascar has already took over Speed TV.
WRC drivers are the most respected drivers in the world everybody thinks they are nuts to go that fast on mountian roads .Petter Solberg taking the 2003 WRC Championship was way cool thing that happened this year:D
But for you Nascar guys Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson did win the Race of Champions in 2002.A close circuit rally cross race. Also in the formula one boards Jeff Gordons name is bat around as the only american that could make a go of it in Formula one. What really funny about Nascar is when they have the road races some teams hire road racers to replace their oval driver for example Boris Said. I guess what I really don't like about Nascar is it like pro wrestling over hyped.

Racer9 12-06-2003 04:09 PM

Yeah. Well NASCAR is still in the lead but we are not very far behind now.

Lord_HelmetR34 12-07-2003 10:59 PM

I'd take rally over Nascar anyday. These guys are running 100+ on these old logging roads. That takes some mad skills.
Not to say that Nascar drivers aren't talented. It's just not as exciting to me as a WRX blasting through the dirt at top speed!

rfnagel 12-08-2003 05:27 AM

Hey, don't get me wrong... I *LOVE* dirt LOL! -:) It's just that I lean a bit more towards SODA racing -:)

GerG 12-08-2003 11:54 AM

i voted for world rally which is in second place behind nascar i hope rally wins

Racer9 12-08-2003 02:50 PM

Same for me. I love rally but I guess I am kinda' biased because my dad used to rally in the 70's and 80's and did well too. He still has his FIA lisences for racing in Canada.

in reality, when he drove the BMW F1, he was 3 or so seconds slower than the slowest qualifying time for all the F1 teams...........though thats not bad for a left turner..............i still very much dislike nascrap and these other things like irl...................i am all for F1 as i said in my previous post......GO FERRARI!!!!!!!!!!!!

peace:D

100% pure racing strategy, my man -:) Like I said my my previous post too, I have a severe dislike for all of them "fureign" cars, as us Southern Boys like to call 'em LOL -:)

BTW, seems to me if all of the cars have the same or similar specs, then this would make for a race that would be predominatly based upon driver skill... not who has the fastest car -:)

slotsurfer 12-08-2003 10:43 PM

Rally and Nascar have more in common than you all may think. The roots of Nascar is the old moonshine runners. They had to make their cars faster to out run the smokey's when being chased down the country roads. So the good ol boys would would get together and race to see who had the fastest car. They would race from point A to B the see who was the fastest. Rally racing in the most simplest form .
Comrade Boris
The Great Juan Pablo Montoyo Jeff Gordon car switch at Indy. Was pretty cool that kind of time for Jeff first test in a F1 car is really good.Jeff was really impressed. But Juan it was diffrent story he had already won Indy 500 in a IRL car so it was really no big deal for him to circle Indy in a stock car.Hopefully we will some day have a American F1 driver or a WRC driver but highly doubt it they get home sick to easy. That what happen with Michael Andretti at Mclaren he was flying back and forth between Europe and the USA.Instead of staying in europe testing and learning as much as possiable about F1.Maybe the Red Bull Program will solve this problem?

T_T_52 12-09-2003 09:27 AM

What rally cars shall they have

slotsurfer 12-09-2003 09:42 AM

Lets see RS already has the Mitsubishi Lancer mold. They have a licence from ford .Ford would be more than happy if the made a Focus. They need Subaru,Peugeot,Citroen,Skoda to complete the line up.Now if they went with Junior group you could add Seat,Fiat,Suzuki,Opel. RS would have the coolest line up if they could produce WRC and JWRC cars with the right tampos on them.Include Marlboro cigarette sticker so we could put them on the Peugeots.I would be happy man:D

GerG 12-09-2003 01:29 PM

First of all if nascar wins we would be seeing stock cars with brake lights and head lights same with F1 and thats gay second of all why did they even put F1 in the vote because there is no way they can an F1 body but if they do it will pretty funny looking:mad:

Racer9 12-09-2003 02:43 PM

It would look stupid to see any of the others with lights on them. Rally would look the best since they already sit high in real life!

ViperKid 12-09-2003 02:51 PM

like i said, if nascar wins it doesn't mean that RS will make nascar zip craps...they probably don't care who wins, it's just a stupid poll

rfnagel 12-09-2003 03:58 PM

Yep yep, that's simply what they call a market feeler.

carlisimo 12-09-2003 09:56 PM

Someone explain to me the appeal of NASCAR. I'll pay attention and give it a chance, honest.

Stridex 12-09-2003 10:51 PM

Carlisimo,

I hated Nascar 2 years ago. Couldn't stand it. But, my wife from Oklahoma always watched it. I'd peek on every now and then and hope for a crash, but nothing ever happened to keep my attention. Until...a local boy from my home-town (VEGAS) stepped onto the scene. I still won't sit through the whole race, but I'll watch more laps now that Kurt Busch is out there kicking arse. BTW, I voted for the rally cars. I'd rather see Peugeot's and VW's then plain ol' stock cars. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it might take local ties to a driver to understand or appreciate the sport. Without someone to root for, it's really just cars going round and round.

Just how I feel about Formula and Rally racing LOL -:)

Racer9 12-10-2003 02:35 PM

I will watch them all just rally is the best!

slotsurfer 12-10-2003 11:18 PM

I use to work at the slotcar track on turn one At Cajon Speedway in El Cajon ,California.I guess Jimmy Johnson is from that track so I am told. It was fun to see a driver in his stock car works his way up from the back of the pack to the front on the 1/3rd mile track. They had Pony Car racing,Demlotion derby at the end of the month after the race and Boat racing.Boat racing is a guy pulling a boat with a trailer behind it .Also train racing where you have 3 cars hooked together. Bassiclly the fan got drunk as hell and only really payed attenion when their was a crash or the Demo derby. But I still Like WRC and F1 better because it is safe and they race safe.It so safe they can crash at 180 kmh and walk away.I keep hoping Speed TV wiil start a new channel called Speed international so I can be Nascar free.

carlisimo 12-11-2003 02:54 PM

I guess it's like any sport (or "sport") you're not familiar with. I like soccer and football but it took a lot of help from fans before I understood what was cool about each one. Still working on baseball... I get it now, but I still think it's too mechanical to be interesting if neither Bay Area team is playing.

I can appreciate NASCAR inasmuch as I appreciate racing, but I can't think of any strategy that's unique to it. Rally racing seem to have everything that NASCAR has, plus more variables: far more interesting and varied tracks, non-cookie-cutter cars, scenery, jumps, slides, etc.

Having a local favorite changes things, and it says a lot about rally racing that it can be known here without having much of a history here. When I lived in Spain part of what made it so popular is that small towns no one would usually think of visiting would get races going through them. People would gather in trees and on hills to watch, sometimes on corners where cars would slide right into them (sometimes with really bad results). It's also cool to see economy cars turned into monsters... something those of us on an economy car budget all enjoy.
The cars also look cooler.

GerG 12-11-2003 04:29 PM

I no what u mean people get hit with rocks. midtown Madness 2 if any one has it gimmy yor screenname for AOL instant messanger.

ekcut 12-11-2003 05:32 PM

Nascar

NASCAR baybee!

ZipZaps are most like Nascar. All cars are created equal, whoever is best in the garage, has the best setup, and is the best driver....that team will win the race.
The bigest factor in most other forms of racing is the amount of money your team has to spend...
Car racing is sport, sports are competitions between athletes to see who the best is, not a competition to see who has the most money and can buy the best equipment.

Racer9 12-11-2003 07:39 PM

Actually they are more like rally. Zip Zaps slide like crap and so do rally but NASCAR with headlights, as pointed out earlier by GerG, would look really gay and retarded. There is already a really high performance Motorworks NASCAR out there so Zip Zaps should make WRC.

Rally all the way baby!!!!!

xt600 12-13-2003 12:07 AM

I went to the site to cast my vote for rally and it looked like the poll was over.Anyone know who came out on top?
