Can you make a Xmod sit higher?

I'm just wondering because the bottom of my car hits all kinda crap man Cracks in the sidewalks and everything!

badboy007 11-30-2003 04:06 PM

Well, I guess there is a way. The easiest way is to install hard springs (the blue ones).

FrozenKamikaze 11-30-2003 04:17 PM

Really

Well i'm gonna get the stage2 motors before anything I NEED SPEED!!!

viperkilla 11-30-2003 04:25 PM

LOL, yea stage 2 motors is one of the best upgrades you can get. But if you want more speed you can get the stage 10 motor or the NLM motor.

badboy007 11-30-2003 04:30 PM

Thats really cool because my friend made his Zip Zap lower.

badboy007 11-30-2003 04:37 PM

I attatched Pokemon cards to the bottom of my Xmod so it wouldnt get all scratched up.I drove my Zip Zap SE of the table and I put paper on top so the top wouldnt get all scratched up.

viperkilla 11-30-2003 04:40 PM

Pokemon cards? Now I have heard everything for a skid plate.

if there is an easy way that is not permanent to raise a xmod im up for it. it would be cool to raise it 1/4 to 1/2 an inch or more!
:blift:

Like monster truck style? That would be sweet!

RSXRacer001 11-30-2003 06:48 PM

yea...and then get huge knobby tires.

Yeah but i wanna stick to officialy licensed parts...but that's just me.

security civic 11-30-2003 08:38 PM

dont hit the cracks j/k
u could mod ur wheels and tires but it might be slow

FrozenKamikaze 11-30-2003 08:47 PM

The treaded tires have bigger sidewalls don't they?

That would be perfect.

aperson 12-01-2003 08:27 AM

you could try mounting tires on top of tires.

RSXRacer001 12-01-2003 02:42 PM

there would be a clearance issue if you did that. xmods needs to come out with a lift kit and big knobby tires
dont you think that would be cool?

Thats what I am hoping for. They already have an AWD kit. Now all they need is a lift kit and some huge wheels. Maybe Radioshack will release r/c's like the overland.;)

aero528 12-01-2003 03:25 PM

i would defenetly buy an xmod overland!!:D :D they would need big shocks too!

RSXRacer001 12-01-2003 03:26 PM

where do you get the overlands and how much do they cost?

FrozenKamikaze 12-01-2003 05:05 PM

I don't wanna turn it into a rock crawler:p

If somehow i could gain just a little more ground clearance hardly any at all then it would be perfect!

mbartell 12-02-2003 09:59 AM

one way to raise

Get some washers, and put them between the tab on the front and the chassis, then put some more between the tab in the back and the body. That sould raise it a little, and be reversable.
Plus a small bag of washers is easy to find at most hardware stores.
You could also use O rings or peices of fuel line.

aperson 12-02-2003 11:42 AM

were talking about the entire chassis not just the body

RSXRacer001 12-02-2003 02:44 PM

yea...we need to know how to raise the whole chasis, not just the body.

FrozenKamikaze 12-02-2003 03:39 PM

I remember looking at the tire upgrade and the treaded tires looked like they had a bigger sidewall then the slicks.

I was probably gonna buy a tire set later on anyways so i'll just see if that works.....and if it doesn't i'll just mess with it untill i get a good idea.

RSXRacer001 12-02-2003 05:42 PM

yea im getting the tire upgrade too. the sidewalls may be a little bigger but its not going too make that much of a difference.

FrozenKamikaze 12-02-2003 08:13 PM

It doesn't need to be raised alot just a little bit and i'll be happy wid it.

I was just gonna buy the tires anyway so it doesn't really matter. If it raises the car a little then it'll be like a added bonus;)
