attention XMODS drifters
hi, i was just wondering, for the people that are able to actually dirft in xmods, if it is easy or hard. i mean like, do you get it like 100% of the time? me personally, i calculated and i get it about 96% of the times, which isnt bad, since i only had it for 2 days and have everything stock.
XMODS RULE!!! |
oops, my bad, i meant, i DONT get it 97% of the time. i get 1 out of about 30 trys  lol, but its ok for a start right? its just so hard!
i took a damp rag and wiped my kitchen floor down (vinly) and went at it with my supra....sweeet drifting...
my method
i got the rechargable batts and it started my car to be a drifting machine, way better than any video game on my laudry room floor. its uber smooth and sealed. i am getting some new add ons tomorow and i'll let you know about drifting in the tennis court. check out the "you=slow" thread for a baseline testing method.
i get it like 1 out of every -1000 tries... my **** breaks even when im on low, and half throttle when i punch it... it sounds cool but sucsk after a while
go get a micro rs4 and you can drift till your heart turns blue
not everyone can afford an RS4.
okay, u wanna drift like a dream...okay, i just did it with my supra xmod...just take the rubber off ur rims....then go nuts on your kitchen floor.....ooooooo sweeeet
riding on bare wheels, that's nice, but have fun with your donuts. donuts does not equal to drifting. and besides, it's hard to tell if it's a good drift unless you drift it around a corner on a track. drifting on an open area is just sliding around for fun
i know the difference. there is a long hallway that i can go down (vinly) then cut it into the kitchen and have my front end pointing towards the middle of the kitchen the whole time as i go around the outside of it....very nice indeed. and great thing is that the bare plastic rims don't get messed up riding of vinly
I cant really drift with my XMOD on my basement floor even though it is very slick. I can only do donuts.
its only hard if you make it hard

hey i just found a use for those ugly rims that come with the foam tires. |
aren't those rims that come with the foams smaller in diameter?? i mean, when i took off my tires from the stocks i had almost zero ground clearance...
drift-o-matic
I do real well drifting with the stage 2 yellow in the parking garage at work....it's concrete or some kind of asphalt-concrete hybrid.
I can drift almost every time i try in my kitchen which has a 90 degree turn and i drift around that...my setup is... Stage 2 10 tooth, AWD, stiff suspension, and hard slicks...this is the best for drifting in my opinion...oh and BTW if you take the tires off your rims and just drive on the rims, thats not drifting...thats just being retarted...i bet you look like an idiot...LOLOL:p :p
my problem is that i just do donuts.

I have a question...is drifting when you go around a corner and the car breaks loose?
yeah the back end breaks loose and you control the slide as you turn.
and driving with the tires off is accually pretty fun. you need allwheel drive to drift but you can. i thought it was a dumb idea at first but i can drift it with out tires, its accually pretty cool. i can also drift with the tires on. if you are on a smooth floor you should be able to drift with awd or rwd. you just need less turn and more counter stear with rwd |
hay, so its easier to drift with AWD upgrade right? becuase with RWD, i spin out most of the time.
settin the record straight
use throttle contol and opposite lock steering to make long donuts out of little one. try the steering and throttle are called porportional for a reason. the tyre choice is the biggest factor in drifting. the hard treads are the best i have found.
i got awd and i drift well in raquetball and basketball courts

i just made a supra with the 6cell thing, hard treads up front, stock slicks in back, and i was gettin pretty tail happy around turns, but ive only been screwin around with it for about 5-10 minutes. |
Your not to smart with the whole proportional thing either...he didn't say it was "fully proportional" he said it was proportional...referring to digitally proportional...check xmodsrc.com before you start giving your 2 cents:rolleyes:
what i do (i just got mine today) is drive it in the dusty corners of my house to coat my tires and the take it into the open hardwood halways of my house and drift from room to room....lol....its fun.........
i guess im screwed. i only got a wooden porch and high pile carpeting to drive on. and the neighbors driveway that is so full of cracks that its impossible to drive it on. oh and a garage floor that has absolutely no room to drive on. but it makes a cool street course
I just use tape on my tires. All I have is all wheel drive and i drift good like that. I am preety good at drifting and I'll post some videos when I can find my parents video camera. I think I can get about 10 - 15 feet of drifting but I WILL post videos showing it for those who think its not possible.
........IDEA!!! when i go to the ice rink next time ill bring my xmod! there is almost never anyone there so ill try drifting on ice!!!!! ill also bring my cam to try recording it if it works......should be sweet however it works out!:D :D :D

I'm a real life drifter w/ my supra so when i got my supra xmod (both red :) ) i of course had to set it up for drifting i left the awd for last because i wanted a supra built like a supra h ere's what i did and what i found out.
i first set up w/ hard springs int he front and stiff in the rear w/ the 3* bar. this worked alright but not enough. i then bought tires. I put the HARD TREAD on all 4 even better drifting to spinning out ratio. then i threw a stage 2 motor the red one dun remmeber which that is. even better w/ more power to the wheels but still couldn't control like i wanted to but it did have enough power to break loose when i wanted it to. j ust couldn't controll it readily enough. I then finally broke down to all wheel drive. and it works GREAT. i have about a 97-3 drift to spin out ratio. so here it is again the minimum setup (i have since added 6 cells and an NML motor but those are optional) soft suspenions up front (red springs) stiff suspension in rear (blue) 3* bar AWD HARD tread all around. there you go thats all you need. |
