I dunno whether you guys have seen the ricer exhausts that have the LEDs in them, but I was messing around making an exhaust(DON'T EVEN BOTHER ASKING WHAT THE MUFFLER IS MADE OUT OF)... its some plastic i found... anyway, here it is...

Wow looks great! That muffler looks pretty good. What brand of paint are you using?

4G63T 11-24-2003 09:55 PM

lol RICE:D
ok well i am not really interested in the lights and etc but i noticed your exhausts looks good!
can you post some pics of the exhaust and also can you tell us what its made of?
btw great job,it's not my style with the light in exhaust but sure why not:p

_revhards13 11-24-2003 10:13 PM

heres a good idea, even though i think your a stupid ricer... conect it to the front set on the light kit... then when you go forward it will dim the tail lights and blaze the exhaust... making it look like it lights up... and you can ditch the elec tape... f'ing ricer!

i used this piece to a broken pen i found. It would way too hard to explain what the pen looked like and stuff... just a piece of an old pen...that goes for everyone wondering what it is made out of... thats the best explanation I can give.....

I will snap a few more pics soon, but my cam is chargin rite now!

alright... i accept your opinion. But first..... let me tell you and all these other people here looking at this: IMO, the exhaust looks way too big, and the lite up exhaust it gay too.... truthfully, I wanted a smaller exhaust(to the point where i had a smaller one) until I remembered I had an LED and 3V around so I hooked it up but the LED was too large for the exhaust hole. so I took another piece off the pen I was using and it fit perfectly.. I really don't like the whole LED-in-exhaust thing, but I figured I'd be the first to do it anyway!

and that seems like a good idea, but i prolly won't keep the exhaust or the lite on very much longer.... i dunno

oh yeah, and I'll just ignore that "ricer" comment...

civic freak 12-29-2003 02:46 PM

nice pipe midget man, i got a question im just some stupid kid in tha south but whats a ricer ??????

midget_man1387 12-29-2003 02:52 PM

thanks civic... hrmm... a ricer... i dunno really how to define a ricer, but.... I'd say, a person who has or enjoys japanese cars and big fat exhaust pipes that are like 4 inches wide... hrmm, i dunno, it's kinda hard to explain. somebody else wanna expound upon my explanation?

xxspeednplayaxx 12-31-2003 09:43 AM

looks pimpin midget man, i plan on doing the same, i just bought 2 red LEDs rated at 3000CDM and two blue LEDs rated at 2700CDM, what ill do is splice the front lights and add the red LEDs to it, so when your xmod is standing still thw exhaust will light up, and when you move it gets brighter, i also realized that placing a tissue around the LED gives it a realistic look, o yea and ill splice in the blue LEDs with the rear light and have them as fog lights

Joey 12-31-2003 10:35 AM

You've got to be careful when you're talking about ricers, because anyone that fits your description will invariably try to defend themselves. :D

Really, the most common definition is an arrogant driver with a cosmetically overdone car, but little or no actual peformance. The fact that such cars are so frequently Japanese is only a coincidence - around here, the worst of the guys drive Neons. A ricer's usually in denial about his car sucking, too; or they hide behind it being a 'show car.'

geofroley 12-31-2003 12:31 PM

One thing I'd like to point out is big exhausts. Just because it's big doesn't make him a ricer. Infact, a bigger exhaust would perform quite well seeing that more backpressure could escape.

midget_man1387 12-31-2003 01:32 PM

lol thanks guys for the help on the description... and yeah, Joey, you're right lol, I think some of the "ricers" around here may get offended. I personally am a ricer, though, except I don't have a car. Most of the ricers around here driver stupid civics, but you can tell that they have no money because the cars are never clean or anything. I also want to say one more thing: If you are a ricer, do NOT drive around in the winter with the stock wheels on! It makes you and you car look cheap as all hell. I see way to many of these cheap, no-money people driving their fat-exhaust, euro-taillighted civics with their stock hubcaps on, and it makes me realize they have no money. lol I'll probably offend some cheap ricer around here with this post, but oh well...

anyway, back to the subject at hand. xxspeednplayaxx, sounds awesome! you have a supra too? and what are you planning on using for an exhaust? Make sure you post pics here when you're completed!

civic freak 12-31-2003 01:59 PM

thanx dude now i can tell my parents i learned sumthin 2day:D

Joey 12-31-2003 02:01 PM

Well they sure don't have the money to buy another car to drive in the winter, and if you've ever tried to go through the snow with summer rubber bands, you'd understand why they put the stockers back on.

Better to look bad in the snow than die.

And on the subject of the wide-pipe mufflers, geofroley's right; they're really quite helpful for cars with excessively high powerbands, like the S2000 that produces peak power at more rpm than most cars have at all. It's not sensible for much more than that, and you'd typically lose a little bit of low-end by installing one. That makes the car less suited for normal driving.

midget_man1387 12-31-2003 03:56 PM

yes joey you've got a good point there with the tires, but what I'm saying is have another "junker car" to drive in the winter, even if it's something like a 1984 nissan sentra(i dunno if they even made them back then, it's juss off the top of my head). You're right, stock tires are better than thin ones, but still a knowledgable and not CHEAP ricer would have another car to drive in the winter.

and the exhausts... yes, they may improve performance, but on a 15 second civic that couldn't cross the line in 10 seconds without a bunch of money and a smart owner, c'mon!

and one more thing: I don't have a problem with people who have a ricer, but don't go around bragging about their car or the 1991 geo metro they beat in a street race last week. It's only the arrogant ones who I can't stand

Joey 12-31-2003 08:15 PM

Precisely why I added the very word arrogant to my definition. Light-up muffler tips, really, are just too weird for my taste. I don't care if you really do drive an eleven-second whatever, it just looks..eeh..

Not too bad of an idea for a toy, though - just to set it apart.

OverBoostSupra 12-31-2003 09:37 PM

Geofroly, This could be true for most "four bangers", but when you have a well performing car, mostly one with a turbo, You need that little bit of back pressure.

Also have you guys heard of these exhausts, They make it sound like your car has a blow off valve. Thats the underlined definition of a ricer. Making people think you have a turbo by making your exhaust make the sound. Same goes with sponser decals on the sides of te cars and he/she dosnt have those parts.

Just my 2 cents :D

geofroley 12-31-2003 11:49 PM

That's insanely stupid, putting on stickers of brands you dont have or never heard of. It's pretty low if you ask me. It can be an insult to us serious guys who want the most out of their car(Or future care for me).

Joey 01-01-2004 12:50 AM

A muffler that emulates the BOV? I hadn't heard of that, but it may be the answer to this Monte Carlo at my school. I'm almost positive he didn't put a turbo on it (it's an eight-year-old 3.2L Chevy, for crying out loud), but he really gave the motor some juice and it put out that noise alright. It really sounded like it was coming from the engine compartment, I was even standing in front of it, but I think that might be what he's done.

agreed, 100%!

OverBoostSupra 01-01-2004 11:55 AM

Yeah, Companies do make them, It dosnt eliminate the BOV it just makes the sound like you have one. Are you sure he dosnt have a turbo? lol

Joey 01-01-2004 02:01 PM

He might, his parents pay for every little thing on his car, I just don't think he'd do it. It's completely possible...

OverBoostSupra 01-01-2004 06:14 PM

I want a VW golf when im 16. Twin turbo that sucker..lol..

dietryin 01-04-2004 12:01 AM

what is a ricer..

A ricer is just someone that has a import..
That has added a big ass muffler..
And the car is still to slow to keep up with a stock V8 Mustang..
Do u get it now?
ricer=big wing=little d!ck

Back Drift

civic freak 01-04-2004 12:57 PM

thanx die tryin now i get it i really like the last part. wait what does that mean for a girl ricer?!

geofroley 01-05-2004 06:36 PM

You can never truly know whos a ricer and who isn't until you pop open the hood. . .

OverBoostSupra 01-06-2004 04:46 PM

Coment on the mustang-
