I just use the case it came in with some modifications to the foam.
Cut out the space so I would not have to remove the wheels, The motors fit perfectly where the tires were, cut 4 new holes for the batteries, and come cone shaped spots for the gears. Found some mini boxes that fit perfectly in the plastic mount for the body. |

Without body so you can see the mini boxes.

A Tool Box for Wal-Mart, it cost about $5.

Plenty of storage in the top. I add some foam to hold my extra motors in place.

Additional storage in the top tray. I also add some dividers to keep the batteries from sliding around.

Then add some custom trimmed foam in the bottom. It works great!
|
Oh yeah, pick up a little container for the extra screws, lug nuts and such.

heres how i keep my xmod. the car goes where the body came. the intenna goes where it came. in the center that box sits next to the charger (it folds in half). every thing else is in place

Used 35mm plastic film canisters make great parts holders. Wal-Mart photo dept. will probably give you a handful of them. I've been using them for a while for ZipZap parts storage, now XMods stuff.

Wow, there are some great ideas here. I haven't found the perfect storage case yet, I am waiting to see what the Xmods one will be like before I go all out on something nice. Right now, I just store the cars in the original case and put my parts in these 2 little tackle boxes that connect back to back to each other. Of course, my custom painted cars are in display cases.

I got it from Wal-mart. It is air-conditioner sealer foam for window units. It is 2"x2"x3', there are three strips in the bottom of my box. |
i store my xmod stuff in a contianer alot like BC's but its only like one half becuase i dont have as much stuff but i dont like the case it came with, i hate taking apart and putting back together my xmod just to store it in the case, i just leave them on my shelf because i use them alot so i am really looking foward to the xmod messanger carrie bag it should have room for car, controler, and extra stuff
|
I am going to just purchase a tackle box that will fit all my XMOD cars and upgrades.
|
i think i will do the same

How do you make the holes in the foam? Also how do you guys cut the foam so that when you store your chasis the wheels also fit in the foam? An x-acto knife?
