Sorry about the quality, it was the best I could get for now. I hope you guys enjoy!
outlawblaze, please resize you pics as to not spread the forum out and edit your posts.
BTW, Thanks for the pics! Does it come stock with that black hood? |
There hopefully that is better, and no the hood is yellew like the rest of the car.
Sweet pics man!
Tell me, how does the controller feel in reference to sturdiness and durabilty? From here it reminds me of my epoch remote (the epochs only flaw)... only a couple of steps down. |
i'm wondering if it comes with any batteries for the car or if it comes with any kind of charger since theres a charger you can buy
The remote feels pretty solid, you can even take the wheel off and switch it for a lefty. and it has a st. range control. They only flaw I see is that you can't go directly into reverse you must hit it twice.
and no it doesn't come with batteries |

No it doesn't really have anything as far as brakes it slows down pretty quick on its own, I think they just designed it that way to keep you from doing gear damage

Thanks for all the pics and the info outlaw.
Hey outlawblaze can you post some pics with a campairson of the Xmod, The 1:43 corvette and a zip zap including the controllers?
FYI, they "have" brakes, from what Outlaw and I have just learned. I know of no braking upgrade kits, but they supposedly have braking. Probably just a simple slow-down, as I don't see any mechanical setup. Apparently just slows the motor down, and then you click back again to get reverse.
Most reversable ESC'S(electronic speed controller) for hobby quality rc cars have a brake function, and reverse. You push the trigger forward for variable braking, let off the trigger than push it forward again for reverse. The braking force is produced by the motor through the ESC , the motor is not trying to reverse its rotation but accually creating a strong magnetic field which resists rotation of the armature hence slowing the rc car, and should have enough power to lock the drive wheels.
There is no mechanical brake system like a gas powered rc car. |

Hows the steering, is it real propo or RS propo?
well put
PS: I put up some general pics in the Gallery Forum, for all interested. Some suspension, stuff like that. Haven't gotten too carried away yet.
It looks possible from Charlz0 pics to make it only FWD but I wish I had about $1500 right now for these the SEs and full scale R/C. Make that $15000 for R/C Nikko iRiders!
I got my pic with my Zip naxt to my X. Also, there's a comparison pic of the two as well on the new Yahoo Club, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/XmodsRC . Anyway, I'll have it up here and in the yahoo group as soon as my image software works and I can resize it down from 316Kb. tomorrow, I'll switch my other pics to the yahoo group too. (I left the pics at work). As per someone's request, there's also a short vid clip there as wel (I have a 7MB file but I'm on dialup at home...yeah, that works well *lol*). For those interested, def. join that group.

And the pic. Got it to about 60K. Just cause someone wanted them (And I STILL haven't gotten my hands on a Vette yet *lol*. BTW, for those interested...Most regular "models" can be modified to fit on the Xmod chassis. keep in mind that the windows in most models (1:24 scale) are clear, or not there at all, so if you don't want to see inside, you'll need to tint them (black paint works well from the inside). I recommend staying away from t-tops *lol*.
Hmmm. That looks like a decent sized r/c for me. The only thing that stinks is the price tag.
looks fun. i'm in a good mood too! i just called up radioshack, they said they'll have em in next week, and my parents agreed to buy the car for me, because i'm a freshman and i agreed to take a straight 5 hour PSAT (i still have a year till i take the PSAT) class on my saturday where i originally had plans.
Yeah, it's not too small a car. Like I said, if you look at a regular model, the ones you put together, like from Walmart or whatever, that's the size you'll be crusin at up to supposedly 15-20 MPH (modded to the max, that's what the claim is...and I believe it). For $50, and the ability to mod the bejeezus out of them, it wasn't too breaking. I love mine, just waiting to pick up the rest of my accessories (I've got every other kit and accessory on order, just a matter of time til they get here!). I figure I gots about 250 bucks into it at the moment, but it'll get bigger. Love the postin!

Wow! Those are great! I was thinking of buying a new MP3 player but if I can get my hands on these in the UK, goodbye MP3 player! ;)
Two small questions... 1. How fast is it possible to remove the bumpers and put new ones on? 2. How much noise (if any) do they make? Cheers! :) |
Hey CharlzO, hows the steering is it 16 steps, 8 steps in both directions, or is it true propo? If it's not true propo, then I plead with everyone look at the Mini-z's and Lxx Mini-z's the lxx ones are 50 bucks shipped worldwide and they are true propo. If we all accept substandard products from RS they will continue to make them.
Just my thoughts. |
As for zeronineUK's questions : First, it's two screws holding the front bumper, each of the side skirts, and then three on the rear bumper. So as fast as you can turn a screwdriver, that's your bumper changing speed. Noise-wise, you can hear it in my vid clip at groups.yahoo.com/groups/xmodsrc . The cam was at a distance of 5-10 feet (depending on where the car was during the drive). I would say it's probably pretty close in noise to a slot-car (you know, those things from TYCO that went up walls and things).
For ripper, I tried to count steps in turning, and can't count that high *lol* Ok, well, I could, if I could get it to turn that incrementally. One time I try, I count at least a dozen, but it varies just because I can't turn the contoller slow enough to keep it from moving. It's def. not an 8 step job. I had a Nitro Supra, and this is pretty similar. if anyone else has more info on our X steering, please help us out! Thanks again! |
hey charlzO. i went to that web adress and saw the comparisson of the xmod and the zip, but where is the movie
you have to join it, if you haven't already. It should be under the Files section. It's only about 6 seconds long, I think. I have to trim my longer one to upload (It's about 7MB). The one there, is only 700K
