Bigger Awesome RC

1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone seen these new "Awesome RC"? They are 1/35 scale and are the same cars from F&F. They also come in a clear nitrous bottle with the same controllers , only bigger. It doesn't have a charging base, just pop 3 AAA batteries in the car and 2 AA (three triple A and two double A, weird huh?) and you're ready, You have to have a screwdriver handy to take the car off the glass base, and it even has a nifty on/off switch on the bottom to save power! Here is a pic:

NOW you see the box, not my HAND!!! ROTFLMAO

These things ACTUALLY have TRACTION, unlike the others. they turn widely, and when you hit the turbo button, it screams louder more than it goes faster. AND they are 14.99.....that's three bucks less than the 1:64th scale!

TOP THAT, Azimov! just joking, no insult meant here.

Here is a pic of the price sticker for those who don't believe me.

ugh 08-03-2003 02:18 PM

Did you get it at Wal-Mart? I have exactly $15 and that could be a good way to spend it.

Bad Company 08-03-2003 02:37 PM

I've seen them at TRU, but don't remember the cost.

charliebrown 08-03-2003 07:45 PM

You COULD get them at Walmart, and definetly at TRU.

MicroSpeed 08-03-2003 07:51 PM

Yeah, I saw the 1/35 scale ones at TRU too, but I bought a MS instead. Theres a new walmart that is about 4 miles from my house ( super-Walmart) and It has:

-Awsome RC 1/64
-Awsome RC 1/35
-Phat Boyz RC Car
-Motorworks
-Motorworks NASCAR
-Motorworks Boat & SUV Combo
-MS Sport

(btw they said its the biggest Walmart in the state of NC- )

2fast2furious59 08-03-2003 09:09 PM

wow your walmart has all them...geeze all mine has is awesome 1/64, motorworks with teh spare parts, motorworks with the boat, and motorworks nascar

2fast2furious59 08-03-2003 09:11 PM

but luckily for me all my mini rc needs are less than a mile away form eachother and about a mile away from my house, i got a walmart, tru, radioshack, target, mediaplay, kb toys, home depot and lowes for those projects you need to build....

vtheo 08-03-2003 10:45 PM

nope, he doesnt have them all... he is missing the tanks and jeeps, i want my nascar.....

But you are still missing the Motorworks boat by itself. My Wal-Mart has individual (sp?) Motorworks boats that are really bad looking. They are kind of chubby and have the tiny Motorworks Tx.

vtheo 08-04-2003 03:25 PM

i have never heard of these. do you have any pics, or threads that would show/tell me about them. and are they better than the nkoks?

Way too much battery useage.

edit: I see that it uses a 9 volt. Does it go in the car? If so, that thing must have one  of a top speed!!! But then again, 6 AAA's going in the car equals 6*1.5v= 9v again.....so if you're using non rechargeables, then that's cool too. BUT don't forget, the less voltage going through a car, the less speed. Rehargeable NiCads have 1.25 volts, NiMH's have 1.2, and non rechargeable batteries have 1.5. So, you can save money and have less speed, or keep wasting for more speed. Life is so unfair.

viperkilla 08-07-2003 10:07 PM

hey zztinybitms1 u got that at walmart right?....i saw that....what other models do they have? and how fast does it go?

zztinybitms1 08-08-2003 06:49 AM

It takes a 9 volt in the controllerr and 6 AA battires in the car/I use rechargables

zztinybitms1 08-08-2003 09:45 AM

No i got mine at Toys R Us my walmart dont have crap
But my toysrus has has it all the had a mitsubusihi lancer with the elsipe flames on it

do you have pics? how do they perform? still looking for them in my area, but haven't heard much about how well the boats work.

ugh 08-08-2003 10:27 AM

I didn't buy one, I just saw them at my local Wal-mart right next to the NKOKs and the Disney cars.

MicroSpeed 08-10-2003 07:34 PM

Actually, I forgot to post this, they DO have the tanks and I didnt say just the boat because it isnt an RC CAR .

charliebrown 08-10-2003 08:19 PM

whatever......

Anyway, I'm thinking of replacing the battery holder.....I plan on buying a 9 volt battery holder and replacing the 3 AAA holder in the car with the 9 colt holder. That's the PLAN. It won't be as easy as it looks, anybody dare to try??? :p

vtheo 08-10-2003 09:44 PM

thats twice the voltage... i would be wary, also i know some ninie volt are really 6 batts slighty smaller than aaa in case, so it might be cheaper to just do aaa, i dont know.

Nitrolio 08-11-2003 02:13 PM

ok is this worth getting, i want to get one but i not sure. zip zap, microsizer bit char, i cant decide. someone help me please

charliebrown 08-11-2003 08:33 PM

Each have their own advantages. ZipZaps are a LITTLE more upgradeable than MicroSizers (I.E. hubcaps, different tire treads, same wheel sizes) and they have the sweetest bodies you can find for any micro RCs. BUT microsizers have better mods like the dual cell and the stock battery has more power output than a Zip, but about half the runtime capacity. AND, MicroSizers have smaller front wheels that a ZipZap, but SLIGHTLY larger back wheels. The ZipZaps and MicroSizers have the same gear ratios, but different motor rpms. See, for ZipZaps, the motors you can get in the stores are 16,000 rpm, 21,500 rpm, 23,500 rpm, 28000 rpm, and 34,000 rpm. But for MS there is only 10,000 rpm, 16,000 rpm, 22,000 rpm, and 26,000 rpm, but that's only in physical stores. Online is a WHOLE different story. And MicroSizers and ZipZap motors are compatible, just require some adjusting. There is a certain type of MS that has a turbo button, the MS pro. When not pressed, an MS is slower than normal. But when pressed, it goes to normal speed. So if you can amp up the non-turbo speed to normal, then you will have a better MS.

For more speed in physical stores and more runtime, try the ZipZaps. For a turbo button or normal speed in stores, but higher speed than ZipZaps from online stores, get the Micro Sizer/Pro.

edit: in america, it's called a microsizer, but in japan it's bit char-g. In europe it's LXX char-g.

viperkilla 08-11-2003 08:49 PM

dont forget the blue motor (10,000 rpm) for the zip zap :)

Nitrolio 08-11-2003 09:15 PM

then there is really no need for 2 speed yeah? just trying to decide what i should get. a cheapy one from the dollar store or a MS or ZZ. seems the same to me.

vtheo 08-11-2003 09:45 PM

whoa ther charlie, some of that isnt right.

you can dual cell a zipzap, in fact i prefer it, the zz handles way better than an ms or clone, even at very high speeds(for a 1/64 size car) also it is alot easier to fit two batts internal in a zz then a ms

Quote:

In europe it's LXX char-g
no it is not, the lxx is a clone, not made by tomy, i forgot what name it is in the uk, or the one is australia is called.

and that is just debateable, ms's can fit zz motors, you just have to sand down the little numb on the motor, ms's are faster do to their light weight but uncontrolable over a 2.6 (imo) and if you double charge, runtime is fine for both.

There is a 3.0 made by Tomy. I dont think it has a lot of torque but it is 3.0.

:D :D :D sorry charlie, i dont mean to sound mean or put you down, but some of the stuff you put was wrong, but if i am wrong someone please correct me :p ;)

MicroSpeed 08-12-2003 06:14 PM

Toyeast makes LXX's, because I have one and it has their logo on it. I dont really like them tho

*reaches into computer and smacks vtheo with lucy's football*

I have a knack for getting put down.... ZZ motors don't fit MS cars unless you sand them? Who wants to take THAT risk? I pass! and I'm saying that the MAXIMUM runtime is diferent. and for the dual cell, how do you fit it in there? WITHOUT flipping the pcb and snapping wires????

3.0 is indeed made by tomy, but is it sold in physical stores like RS? or Hobby shops??? Didn't think so.....;)

vtheo 08-13-2003 12:34 AM

OUCH! :p

as for sanding down, you dont have to do it, you just have to break the back end :D most clones do support both motors, but i havent heard of or seen an unmodified MS accept a motor without breaking the back end of the car, OR sanding down the little nub on the back plate of th motor. no harm
comes to the motor, in fact it may imporve the contact.

I believe that target is carrying the new 3.0 along wiht powerbrutes and other new stuff. not sure becuase mine isnt agian correct me if i am wrong

And i never said that ZZ's dont have better runtime, i was just saying that i dont need the runtime either of them could and can provide...

and for duel celling, you siad that on MS can be dual celled, which is very wrong, also i have had wires break on EVERY MS/BCG i have owned, all the clones(execpt motorworks, but they arent a clone anymore, they are their own brand with different chassis) But my zz, which is modded the most, has only had the antenna fall off and that was on porpose.

Finally, I didn't and don't mean to offend you! I just wanted to make sure that people were not being mislead, and that everyone had the correct info. now back on topic, wait what was the topic... oh yeah, the new bigger awesome rc. does that have any form of suspension?

I managed to jam a ZZ 2.35 in my old '02 MS but if I tried to jam a ZZ 3.4 it wouldn't stay in. It's odd...

charliebrown 08-19-2003 07:45 AM

vtheo you are not offending me! Heck, critiscism means somebody is pointing out that somthing in you can be fixed!

I doubt it has any suspension, it is just a bigger form of the RC that Azimov found, except it runs on 3 AAA's. ;)

thats not true most people with audleys use rechargeables because it gives better speed because they can give out more ampage
it makes a huge difference in both acceleration and top speed

rallger 08-28-2003 12:42 AM

anyone seen the phat boys
they are the weirdest ive seen
the tx takes a 9v go figure

cj1267 08-28-2003 11:06 AM

Namuna or Tiny can you add another group in the Bit Char-G, MicroSizers, ZipZaps, Z-Cars, Clones just for the Clones so post like this do not clog up the ZZ group? RS is about to start delivering the new cars for the year and it could realy make it hard for new owners to find the info onn ZZ in here.

PS: I'll personaly delete this message if you want.

Yeah, good point. LXX's are cheapy-clones.
In Austrailia, Bit Char-G's are known as Compact Char-G.

vtheo 08-29-2003 02:17 PM

yeah i agree with you cj, the problem is that there is already a catagory for this the other rc section, the problem is that there is very little traffic there, and you wont have the response that cb got, i do think that there shoudl be a sub forum for non-clones, (the phat boys, newer motorworks, awesome rc, nkok) because they can have mods that the others cant, also it will encourage people to keep the ms/clone/bit and zz forum on topic..... i still have a thread in the other rc section with only one reply :( oh well thats what i get for following the rules :p no offense charlie
