eastern USA modders section

What's up everyone. what i'v seen most of the modders are from canada and cali. But there are a lot of electronic freaks over her 2, well exept north carolina and myrtle beach. The chances r that i'm the only on in myrtle beach that can take aflashlight apart without breaking it. It's like the friggen prehistoric here. Darn cavemen. (I just moved here)

stampede720 06-27-2003 11:12 PM

ib311 06-28-2003 12:01 AM

Char-g Ace 06-28-2003 12:03 AM

ViperKid 06-28-2003 08:57 AM

PseduoRooter 06-28-2003 09:19 AM

I live in northern SC, and we have a pleasant blend of rednecks, and stuck up rich people.

metsrule119 06-28-2003 11:43 AM

Maxxcrazy 06-28-2003 02:48 PM

Orlando, Flordia plenty of rich people here.

Racer9 06-30-2003 11:37 AM

Suburbs of Philly! an hour away due to rich snob traffic at King of Prussia mall! not much to do! Except play with mini r/c cars! :)

BilboBaggins 06-30-2003 11:52 AM

I was at KOP this weekend.
Traffic very was bad, mainly due to roadwork.

Maybe we should start up an online club.

The ECMA

Char-g Ace 06-30-2003 02:06 PM

good idea

I could build a site if u want

PWalk 06-30-2003 02:06 PM

Born and raised in the Frankford section of the "Cradle of Liberty" otherwise known as Philadelphia.

Now residing in the far, and much cleaner, Far NE of Philly about 10 minutes from Franklin Mills Mall.

I don't really mod the cars, but I can make a helluva track to test them on!

strider_mt2k 06-30-2003 02:19 PM

How'd I miss this?

Born in Walson Hospital Fort Dix NJ

Currently living in Atco, NJ.

BilboBaggins 06-30-2003 02:21 PM

About the same time to the Mills for me.
But I usually stay away from there because of the tourists.

PWalk 06-30-2003 02:48 PM

Yeah but sometimes you can get some great deals in the "Mills" on clones. Only place I could find my Panthers.

nrmcj 06-30-2003 02:55 PM

heh cool, you guys got some mad knowledge base here... =P

pwalk, i was thinkin about makin a track.. and after lookin @ urs, (the dirt one) i wanted to make something like rally track.. any quick suggestions on the kinda stuff that can/should be used?

BilboBaggins 06-30-2003 03:04 PM

I saw some Precious Clones at KOP Court Under 5 store.

PWalk 06-30-2003 03:31 PM

Absolutely Pie,

First I used foam insulation for most of the track. It's easy to work with, cuts real well to just about any shape you want and at only about 1 inch thick you can adjust the grade of hills very easily therefore making it easier for a Bit to get up.

For making "rocks" and "cliffs" I used to Crayola's Model Magic (cheap plug!!) It's easy to mold, sets up quickly, and best of all it doesn't crack when it dries. Also it's lightweight which is great for when your carting your course around like I have.
DO NOT USE PLAY DOH! It may be cheap but it cracks and breaks all the time.

For decorations you can use a variety of things depending on the setting you want the course to be set in. I use a variety of stuff from sand paper on the hills(great for traction where you need it)
Deer Moss for trees and shrubs, and cinnamon for dirt (best tasting dirt I've ever tried).

I can go on and on so I'll post the rest in the track section.

ib311 07-01-2003 12:04 AM

i'm only 20 mins from Phili. we should really start a club.

nrmcj 07-01-2003 12:11 AM

ahhhh gotcha... i was thinkin about the rally setting, while actually using roads and stuff. foam insulation.. sounds good to me! :)

thx for the info dude, and i'll go check out whatever i need in the tracks area!

PWalk 07-01-2003 07:51 AM

No problem Pie,

For the roads I would suggest the sand paper. It's got a good look to it, provides ample traction and it takes paint really well to.

Philadelphia area people...
If you guys want to get something started here in the Philly area just let me know. I'm interested and starting to get tired of running my cars against just my brothers. We could do a barbeque or something and race the bits all day on a picnic table.
Any thoughts??

BilboBaggins 07-01-2003 08:05 AM

Where would this meet, greet and race take place?
Pennypack Park?

PWalk 07-01-2003 09:18 AM

Pennypack park would be ideal for anyone in the general area, but if ya ask anyone from outside Philly and they'll have no clue.

I could see a state park in the area, Neshaminy, Ridley Creek, hell we could all meet down at the liberty bell or Independence Hall.

I'm open to ideas...

strider_mt2k 07-01-2003 09:37 AM

This sounds like a good excuse to make it "big" and invite some dealers in Tiny RCs.
How cool would that be? Dealers, some table space for field-modders and the like, as well as a place to race and show off our hardware.

Sounds good to me! :D

BilboBaggins 07-01-2003 09:41 AM

Independence Hall. Oh wait they are opening the new constitution center there this week.
Rittenhouse Square.
Love Park, Also called JFK Plaza.
Dilworth Plaza (15th street side of City Hall).

I work in Center City Philly.

BilboBaggins 07-01-2003 09:49 AM

If I didn't live in a rowhome I would invite people over.

If you're talking dealers and demos you may have to get clearance from City Hall to meet at most of the locations listed.

PWalk 07-01-2003 09:55 AM

Now that I think about it downtown would suck as we couldn't get a grill going or park anywhere for free.

State parks sound like the way to go here. Big, open spaces plenty of parking, no permit needed, plenty of tables already there to set tracks up on etc...

Racer9 07-01-2003 12:32 PM

I really don't have any cars because i lost the steering spring to my Bit!:(

Racer9 07-01-2003 12:33 PM

Valley Forge park would be good! :)

MicroSpeed 07-02-2003 10:43 AM

Ive posted this in the events section, but does anyone know any place in NC that I can race RC cars? It gets kinda boring drivin by yourself.

Exerpt from Shrek-sung by donkey:

"I'm all alone!-theres no one here beside me!......."

Okay I'll stop:D

-David

PWalk 07-02-2003 11:02 AM

I haven't a clue where to go in NC Micro, best of luck.

Philly area members...

I have no problem getting to any of the state parks in the area. We should try and keep it in the center of where everyone is located.

Lets set this up!

MicroSpeed 07-05-2003 11:08 AM

Thanks

-David

SlowbutCourious 07-05-2003 11:35 AM
