Hello Everyone,

I wanted to let you guys know that I received my R-Spec motor today and I am very impressed. I've always loved the speed of the 3.8 motors and the torque of the 3.0 motors. Well, the R-Spec delivers the best of both worlds. It's awesome. It gets off the line quicker than my 3.8 motors, but the 3.8s can't catch it down the straight away like they do other motors. I've tried it in my booster machines and my Wild Char-g trucks and it works great in them all. The R-Spec has become my favorite motor of all. I can't say enough about how great this motor is, except, I'm ordering 2 more.

well i went ahead and ordered me an R-spec. I'll see how it compares to the bitmod 3.5 in a booster.

Please do. I love my 3.5, but i also want to support TinyRC:)

I am interested in order one of these R-Spec Motors. Sorry I'm kind of a newbie still, but do I have to do any special mods to use the R-Spec Motor, like a battery mod?

For those that have purchased the R-Spec Motor, what do you think? How is the torque?

Ok here's my review. :) (great intro) I compared the zz turbo, 3.8, and r-spec engines beside each other in a very non-scientific manner. It was me and a few friends just running my bits around on the floor, having races, jumping ramps, etc etc. And to test the torque (again very non-scientific) I just ran them on the carpet for a while. In one comparison/race between a bit running blue gears with r-spec engine and one with teal gears running zz turbo, the r-spec engine was able to keep up with the zz turbo off the line (which totally surprised me) and, as expected, began pulling away in the top end. I then compared the 3.8, zz turbo, and r-spec both running in the same exact bit, running with teal gears. With this setup the r-spec seemed to be a hair faster than the 3.8 in the top end (it might have just been the illusion of the torque hehe) and totally blew away the zz turbo in the top end. In all the times of running the r-spec the more torque seems to come into play in the mid-range of the motor. What I mean is that it seems to start off only slightly faster than the 3.8, then after a split second or two gains speed more quickly (like you slammed the accelerator on your car). In short, the r-spec totally blew away my 3.8 in every way. As far as comparison in torque, the 3.8 seemed to have little (if any at all) torque. I wasn't able to even get the 3.8 to run at all, on the carpet. The r-spec ran decently on carpeted areas but was only about as fast as a worn out 1.0 (and this was running the blue gears, with the teal gears a little nudge is needed sometimes but it still runs). So if you're buying the r-spec expecting it to be a torque monster you're buying it for the wrong reasons. If you're buying it to have the fastest motor I've seen for a bit, then by all means buy three! So in conclusion, this engine rocks my world! I highly recommend all to go buy at least one!

the R-Spec rocks, NUFF SAID! I plan to do a tri cell mod on my lancer with the ULTIMATE REAR WHEELS (see this thread for kool pics of my ultimate wheels: http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread....&threadid=6306) someday and then the huge wheel should realy become neccesary. can u imagine an R-Spec (or 2) with the tri cell mod!! it would be the fastest Bit in the WORLD!

The R-Spec motors sounds really good so far! How is the handling though? I guess it would probably be only good for long drag races, or a simple track (as long as it's a big track).

I have a 3 cell mod with the r spec in a 2 speed 350z. The funny thing is I think my 2.6 motors are faster in the 3 cell mod. Too fast to drive normal with any motor with the 3 cell mod. It seems the faster you get your car to go the more exaggerated the pull to the right is. The r spec is the best motor I have tried. Equal on torque to most and faster than all. I have bitmod 3.5's and 2.6 motors.

xxspeednplayaxx: No boosted is a specific kind of bit chassis that you need a special controller that will (unboosted) oscillate the power to the motor until you press the boost button, at which point it gives full power to the motor. In my experience (and other will vouch for this) the booster bits, when boosted, are faster than equivalent non-boosted bits. I can sure as heck say that my r-spec definitely screams in my booster NSX. :D
