Man, if you want a mini-z, go get a damn mini-z and leave us alone. You're borderline trolling here.

For the last time, it's gear ratios, not number of gears. I also also see that you're too much of a wuss to say where you're from in Jersey. Would your friend like to be schooled by a brushless xmod?

viperdout im from paterson for 32 years just moved to prospect park. This the last thing im going to say first if you looked what i said i don't want a mini z 2 if i put a brushles in a z what do u think will happen the thing im saying is the xmod has to many gears. This is my world and in my world the xmod will always be slower it sucks to say cause i like them thats why i have one. will never beat a mini z

Well, if I have a pinion with 28 teeth that touches another 28 tooth (all same diameter) which then touches the last gear on an axle with the same diameter and 28 teeth, I have a 1:1 ratio. If I now have a 14 tooth pinion that directly connects directly to the 28 tooth pinion on the axle, I have a 2:1 ratio, which would provide more acceleration, but not nearly as much speed.

I don't think you understand how hard it is to drop in a brushless motor, let alone what it is! Hell, I've got one and I'm still foggy on it. The Z has next to no room to fit a brushless motor, let alone a spot to place li-pos. If a Z had the same amount of room, I would've used it, but it doesn't. It has no room for everything. Brickmodder did a very smart thing, and had someone design a circuit that reads the xmod's signals, then sends it to the Mamba ESC. I'm doing it differently. I've shoved all-new electronics into this thing, and just have to machine the gear and I'm done (I'm going to do that today or tomorrow). Do a search on xmodworld and xmodrc for the 2nd Brushless xmod, and on xmodrc for the Black Mamba (Brick's car).

I'm in Oradell, about 2 miles away from Paramus.

I ............merely goaded you to race me if you want to prove your point. That is not illegal by any sense (unless your xmod can get a ticket for breaking the speed limit). I love Zs. I'm looking into buying an MR02 right now. If I get it, I'll be dropping in 2 lithiums, a Nelly 1.3, and an S04. The Mini-Z is a great vehicle, but right now, my xmod can beat every one of them in the US. It is no offense to any Z person, as I have dumped a good chunk of change into this thing. Again, a Z has a has a higher-speed ratio, and it has nothing to do with number of gears. If I mounted my bevel on my motor, I'd actually go slower because my current gear ratio is 1.09:1 pinion to bevel.

I would like it if you would at least spell correctly in my posts.

Yep.

I wish that somebody would do alloy parts that fit together with whatever other alloy parts are on the market.

Horshu 01-04-2005 01:04 PM

baleisen: Here's a kicker -> The GPM front suspension arm doesn't even fit with the GPM front deck! The front deck's forward-most screw holes extend the deck out just like with the stock one, but the alloy suspension arms are too thick to clear them. I had to use a dremel to shave the screw holes flat with the rest of the plate.

No suspension arms fit unless you mod the GPM front deck from what I remember. GPM did a terrible job on design. The dogbones are way too tight on the RSX rims, and I have no other parts to compare, except for the lugs, which are 3mm, so the xmod driver doesn't work.
