lol! bike! are you familiar with the LRT? im sooo not.. all i know is that it gets down to the university, in which case i can prolly pick you up or something...

toys R us really blows... well i THINK it does... i didnt look for bits, microsizers, or any clones... all i did find was the KIT racers... for 18 freakin bucks... waaaayyyyy too much for a battery, a gear, and a 2.6... i hear their 2.6 rocks, but im not too sure i want another one... i already have my stock 1.0, a microsizer 2.6 that i might exchange later on just to see if i can get a faster one, and a 3.0 (with the same problems as everyones)

if im getting a new motor, im gonna order from either here or bitmod... they make some seriously crazy 3.5s i hear... how fast is your clone?... like, crawling, or just a blur on the ground?

heh the intercooler can be stuck on with any regular glue.. the white school glue stuff is good cuz it turns transparent.. if you have crazy glue it's good... my intercooler looks pretty decent, but it falls off sometimes if i smoke my bit into a wall

hehe! i gotta borrow ur digicam or something ..., i just tinted my windows blood red... looks mean :D

nrmcj 01-12-2003 11:50 PM

oh, and dieselboy that DOES look nice... very good job :D

kech 01-13-2003 12:47 AM

car....

hello ^^... from edm too
I got a question.... hope u guys can help

I just got a automodellista set and played with it for a bit
(speed and everything was still fine)
after awhile i lend it to my sister(she said she didn't drop it or anything), and when I got it back it was really slow.....
There isn't any thing stuck to gears or anything...

anyone might know y it is like this?

can u buy 2speed motors??

Canadian Bit 01-13-2003 06:32 AM

Too bad, I'm not in Edminton, I'm in Toronto. I also have a Zip Zap.

ralliart 01-13-2003 05:22 PM

Pie, maybe do the LRT thing, when the weather gets warmer....its sooooooo cold right now. and is it alright if i probably bring a friend that has a bit? because he'll have a different frequency and im not sure if im planning to buy another clone...no money! :(

so the KIT racers are just parts? what is a decent price for a KIT racer? And will the KIT racer parts fit on clones? probably not eh?

im pretty sure a lot of people talked about this before, but how do you make a crome exhaust?

ralliart 01-13-2003 06:29 PM

oh yeah, Pie, how did u do the tint?

Presto 01-13-2003 08:30 PM

We are from Saskatchewan and we specialize in wholesaling bits to retailers in Canada. Every week we are getting them into more and more stores. On our website we will soon post a list off all the stores we supply with Japanese toys so they are easier to locate for you. Our new website should be up in 3 weeks. We are also trying to get some rc race events together throught Canada, where we could have some fun competitions and give away prizes etc. Contact me if you interested in doing this at preston@minime-rc.com also if you are looking for bits we sell them on our website. we sell internationally but our prices are in Canadian dollars.

heyy, what's up everyone?! i just had my english midterm today... freakin ate me alive ><"
ANYWAY first things first...

kech, welcome to the boards! i see we're gettin more and more e-town pple... mebbe we can even start a little league of sorts... where did you get ur set? and you can MAYBE ask them for an exchange or something... hmmm it prolly IS the motor... try cycling it... (take off the axle and idle gear (the colored one) and let the motor go for a full charge... see if it speeds up... if not, well you could always get a new motor... there are no 2 speeds, it's the circuitry thing and the boost button on your controller that makes the second speed... my recommendation would be go to "kites and other delights" in WEM... they'll fully refund you if you tell them your motor doesnt work, so buy one, test it, and if ur not happy send it back!

heh, Ralliart, damn straight it's cold.... it's frickin Freezing!! sure... well im not sure if you guys wanna come to my house... this may seem like an odd question, but are you guys the type of asian guy with long white/red/yellow bangs and look liek you kill people for a living? cuz if so, my mom mite not be so thrilled to have you guys in the house... heh i wouldnt mind, but she's the traditional strict asian parent...

k, KIT racers are... weird. they're the same thing (ish) as bits, but they run on a rail thing... basically if you buy one, it's for the genuine tomy motor and battery, some funky gears (i dont know the ratios), and an axle/tires, and MAYBE the body.. i havent tried.. in fact, im not sure what parts of anything fit in clones... i think custom mods would be the best bet for clones... (rare earth magnet steering, dual cell mods etc) oh the KIT racers SHOULD be $7-10$ through direct currency conversion, but they retail for 18....

the exhaust, (dont do it this way if you dont have a bunch of extras) i used an AC/DC plug (round with colored plastic inside) and smashed it until everyhting came out, and took the shiny metal tube...it's a rice-boy's muffler, cuz it's huge... well not HUGE but looks ricey... (there's a ton of other ways... search this forum..) the tint can be done with a permanent marker.. but make SURE you have rubbing alchohol... or else you wont be able to get the marker off... color the inside of the body so it looks shiny from the outside, but it cant be erased easily without making the plastic kinda blurry...
(with clones, im not sure b/c the plastic might be non-see through... my real bit has clear windows...)

tell you what... my dad brought home some MADNESS colored film/tape 2day... he was like "stop spazzing out when you cant color rite... so here..." and i already worked my ass off on the tint, so im usin it for decals... it looks pretty nice cuz it's shiny... :D you can use some of it... cuz there's a ton... if not then just paint with clear-ish paint!

omg i cant believe i wrote so much... Kech, ralliart, i hope i helped! :D

Oh, and C_CRX, any new info on the batts, magnets? i really appreciate your efforts!

nrmcj 01-13-2003 08:52 PM

waaaaaaaa presto that's sweet!! thanks for the info!

ur store prices are a lot cheaper (10 bux) than the stores here... but shipping :(

well thx for the info!! you prolly be the new supplier to us ^_^

nghts 01-13-2003 09:12 PM

holy crap presto those store prices are so much better then in edmonton...I got my auto modelista set yesterday for 75 $

dieselboy 01-13-2003 10:40 PM

hey presto, if you guys carried batteries or say bitmod 3.5 or r-spec motors i woudl definetly buy off you as well as advertise for you to my friends :)

nrmcj 01-14-2003 12:32 AM

 where did you get your auto modellista set? i cant find them anywhere in edmonton...

nghts 01-14-2003 11:38 AM

I was lucky to get the last one at COmex Hobby....I wass gonna get a wild charg but then I saw the set..

ralliart 01-14-2003 03:42 PM

whats this auto modellista set you guys are talking about?

Pie, no i dont have those heat bag bangs haha.

nghts 01-14-2003 05:52 PM

it is a new set based on a game for ps2

nrmcj 01-14-2003 07:39 PM

ralliart, if u wanna find out EXACTLY what the auto modellista set is, just look it up in an online store... it's pretty cool.. not too much more than a normal bit, and it's boosted, faster motor, and 4 bodies too... good deal :D

**whew** ... kk that's good then.. i guess you guys can come over sometime if you want.. i dun have a track built yet tho...

hmmmmmmm... knights, how much would you be willing to sell your supra body for? i tinted the windows on my silver celica red, and im thinking about looking for a silver supra body to do the same thing to... team toyota! :D

Swavey 01-14-2003 08:10 PM

Is there a big Bit Char-G scene in Edmonton?
I am from just notrh of Edmonton, small town (Barrhead) and had seen these cars a few times in West Ed, at my favorite Hobby shop, heh. But I didnt thinko they were that popular.

I moved to Japan in September, and will be returning to Edmonton in April. The scene is Huge here, (i think) These cars are in ever store i look!! All new sets and lots of em...

I have also seen two tomy bodies that i have never seen posted anywhere, based on an old japanese tv show, a guy dressed in silver and red, (looks like a fish face, but isnt, lol) kinda like a japan equal to "power rangers"

Has anyone heard of these bodies before? they look kinda neat.

nrmcj 01-14-2003 08:18 PM

holy shizzit!! ur in japan rite now and ur coming back to edmonton?! whoaaaaa goldmine :D

heh, is it ultraman? i played some jap videogames a little while ago.. and there's a fish-face dude in silver... =)

well, i dunno if there really is a scene here, it's just the bunch of us... who've never seen each other before, never raced.. never anything really... but im really thinking of starting up a little club or league or something...

heh, i was just thinkin... (cuz im the guy who looks for favors from everyone :D and a birthday in april) how much is an auto modellista set over there? and do they sell the silver supra ?

yeesh i could drown in drool if they did... would you be willing to bring me back those two things if i paid you the prices? mebbe a little extra on the side ^_^

Swavey 01-14-2003 08:32 PM

I can pretty much find any bit char-G here i think. not 100% sure yet.

i will post the prices of what i have baught when i get home from work, and look at my boxes, (i just have the Auto Modestilla set, a clear booster car and the 4 freq controller)

yeah i am bringing home some cars for my friends, so i could probably bring stuff back for you to. not till april though, unless you want me to ship it, heh

ralliart 01-14-2003 08:41 PM

Thats awesome Swavey . how much are those auto modellista sets if you were to bring some back to edmonton? Im not exactly asking for you to bring one back for me, because right now i am really poor haha. im just wondering.

thx

Swavey 01-14-2003 09:10 PM

I got my Auto Modestilla set for approximatly $50 canadian
could probably find a better price if i looked around more

nrmcj 01-14-2003 09:24 PM

*shivers* any....bit.... char-g..... **gurgle**

heh, wow man, ur a lifesaver...! thx in advance just for offering :D

if you could check the prices on that auto modellista set and the silver supra, thanks sooo much! if the price is good (they woud obviously blow the prices here away), i'd pay up rite away ^___^
im thinking those 2 chassis + the one i have rite now would be pretty much enuf to full out my collection.. (cept for a few test clones)

april would be Great! heh i promised myself not to spend too much for a while =P...

thxxxxxxx !

oh, btw, i Love japan! lol that place is soo nice... cell fone vending machines... mmmmmm........

nrmcj 01-14-2003 09:26 PM

OMG........ are you serious?! 50 canadian?! that's cheaper than the normal bit (1.0, bone stock) kits here!! hmm the supra... 40 about then rite?

count me in for SURE! :D :D :D

Swavey 01-14-2003 09:30 PM

Yeah, just a booster car and the 4 freq controller is 45 bucks canadian or something.
But i have seen cheaper places then where i got mine, I paid 45

nrmcj 01-14-2003 10:01 PM

 the auto modellista comes with a 4 band controller?

C_CRX 01-14-2003 10:04 PM

I think he meant he bought one seperately. I don't think the 4 band controller comes in any factory set Tomy sells, only available seperately. I also don't think it has a boost button, which the Auto Modellista uses.

nrmcj 01-14-2003 10:12 PM

ahh... ic ic hey wb to the boards =)

how the mods coming?

C_CRX 01-14-2003 10:41 PM

I haven't really been gone from the boards the last few days, I just lurk and don't always post.

Mods are coming along slowly, work is taking up more time than I'd like. Wheelie bar (to hold the 2nd cell) is currently being worked on. What I need more is another desk to use as a bit workstation. I'm also throwing around some ideas for a track/lap timer so I can test my mods. Hoping to have a new mod by this weekend. How's things on your side?

dabigpig 01-14-2003 10:57 PM

hey i'm just here to confess that i have been lurking also, and studing for exams, and moving my friends pool table he bought in calgary (busy weekend untill about now). neways i found a cool RC errr ummm construction vehicle set thingie the cost is 20$ at walmart there is a forklift (i bought) a dump truck a crane a front end loader and a cement truck the forks on the fork lift lift up and down it drives like a tank (rear wheel stearing) but i think it's the only one to do this. The controller takes 4 AA batteries it only comes in 27MHz and 49MHz the range on it is pathetic but it may just need better batteries in the controler. the only mods i have done is taped an old AA battery to the back for some extra weight for more traction so it turns easyer when carrying something. i also taped some really fine sandpaper on the forks and crate that it comes with so things don't slide off. it will carrie a clone/bit ect... easly. i think it is only available in canada so thats interesting. ill have to get some pics up later when i get around to it tonight or tommorow depends on how bored i become.

nrmcj 01-14-2003 11:25 PM

hmm that dual cell... i hear that if it works, it works like MAD... !

i would suggest the hidden, but i hear it's a lot harder to do than to simply strap a battery to the back..
plus, the wheelie bar might come in handy.. for that lap timer thing, im not sure how it's going to be made... one could simply copy the tomy retail, but it's gonna involve beams and... infrared.. or soemthing or the other...
btw, i was thinking about increasing the range on my bit, but i took the controller apart and it (again) freaked me out.. i noticed you did an antenna mod ... is there a simple way to get it done, w/o involving soldering?
oh, and most of my mods are strictly cosmetic... the intercooler, muffler, red tinted windows/headlights... which i might add, looks VERY good... IMO...
the fastest my bit will go right now is teal gears and 3.0 motor... i learned to live with the *issues*, and it's not half bad, considering how fast it runs... the next thing im doing is dropping the front end to the ground, but im gonna HAVE to wait til after midterms.. ouch, they hurt...

heh, pig, great find! you got bits, and a transporter :p

ne questions?

nrmcj 01-15-2003 12:28 AM

that's sweet pig!

how fast does it go? and what's the range on that thing?
hmm that charging system seems MUCH more convenient... **cough cannibalize cough**

k this is a question mainly for swavey... i just realized.... my celica, the supra and the auto modellista set are ALL b27m b27m b27m .... this... kinda.. is a bit of a problem... **sigh**

i was wondering... if it's at all possible, do you have any other frequency chassis and controller that you could swap out for the supra? :( i know it;s asking quite a bit... (no pun intended)
but do you have any that you would be willing to switch?

the auto modellista set is okay at 27, i dont mind.. but the supra... if i could have one chassis a different freq, so as to be able to race 2 cars in my collection.. (as of april, thx swavey!)

if you like, i could pay you something for your troubles...

thx d00d... i owe you one..
