Thats the great thing about being a kid in an adult's body... when we were small we had to beg our parents to buy the latest toy, now we have the money and the means to buy all the toy's we want. :D

usagi 11-21-2002 09:44 AM

You forgot about the wives!:( they don`t understand us buying this things:p

Sorry to hear that man.
My hobbies keep me happy, in the house (most of the time), and out of trouble.
How can a woman expect you to be happy if you can't do the things you love? Having a life partner is not enough to get by, unfortunately.

usagi 11-21-2002 10:40 AM

married life don`t you love it :D

zclonedude 11-21-2002 11:43 AM

28 ... I'm more of a "toy collector" rather than just a RC lover. I collect original Generation 1 Transformers and some other stuff. My goal was to get all the 5 Dinobots in their original Boxes which I already did so I'm not really buying more Tf's unless i see a really good deal. I am looking for a Megatron Gun though.

My love for Cars and Toys is what got me into this (Bit) Hobby. My last RC was back in 1988 it was a 1/10 Tamiya Falcon (entry level) and a 1/18 Knight Rider. I love working on my 1/1 car too as much as my Bits.

Azimov 11-26-2002 09:06 AM

I'm 43, been married to the same gal 24 years (that's right got married at 19), have a daughter in college and a son graduating high school this year. I had em early, got it outta the way, and now I can dance the night away. I always find an excuse to wander over to the toy department and see what's there to hack around with. I just built a huge track in my garage and enjoy doing laps while my wife smacks into the barrier wall, backs up into the opposite wall, guns it forward into the wall again, backs up, smack into the wall again... My family doesn't mind my hobbies, micro RC (the latest addition), robotics, comic illustration, astronomy, computer graphics, writing short sci-fi stories, Everquest, and many more. They know I'm crazy and have accepted the situation. I don't require medication, unless self prescribed, and my toys keep me out of dark alley ways at night. Well, most of the time anyways.

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know where I'ma gonna go when the volcano blow. Everybody now!

Sniper596 11-27-2002 07:03 PM

man... you think that these little cars target at 10 year olds would have so much of a market in the adult section? I thought i was too old for such childish things :p. I'm 15, no kids, no g/f, no money, no nothing!!! well except for a microsizer and a roof over my head :D.

Blue Bit 11-27-2002 07:21 PM

most if not all of the adults in this hobby are just probably into cars and have a real car to play/tune/drive around with too. The main attraction to us I guess is the tuning and of course we have to drive them too. :)

TheMechanic 11-28-2002 08:36 AM

age check

Took awhile to check thread, I guess I'm the second oldest at 48.nnrx7y

I think the majority of the people who use (or play for most) Bits and Microsizers are adults.

Old guy

Just bring my little own made B track plus the 4 booster (27,35,45,57MHz) at office (under request BTW).

The office has just 10-15 people, but that day it was common to see time to time 4 people reacing on the track.

After my discovery of pico-RC lot of collegue got addictive and bought some (mainly OEM: they are gready).

When I was a kid due to the old technology and little pocket I was never been able to driving nothing more that a digital slow 1/24 RC plus a stupid CC (Clap controled) doing just back and turning, plus straight !

Modding my First ultra slow RC (around 20 years ago), I manage to make some nice fire flame out of a BJT transistor :)

e_lm_70

P.S: My girlfriend doesn't like this stuff, but allow me to keep some on the living room :)

arch2b 12-03-2002 09:42 AM

what type of offices are you guys in? if i was racing my car around at the office, i wouldn't have my job for long (architect).

e_lm_70 12-03-2002 09:53 AM

It was there for just one day ...

BTW here there is a fix slot-car track at office ... luckily it is used seldom , since it is noisy and close to my desk ...

Kind of office ... young boss and open mind ... maybe too much open ...

BTW I'm in a big famous international company ... in the HW/SW business

Adam 12-03-2002 10:50 AM

You are only as old as you feel. Sometimes I feel like I have been around since dirt was invented. But I am only 24. If it wasnt for my toys and my guns I would go crazy. I target practice all summer and race mini RCs all winter. (Digi-Qs forever!!) Yea!:D

JTM 01-22-2003 03:30 AM

physically i'm 24 :D

DoctorDyna 01-25-2003 09:39 PM

Just turned 41....

Great wife, nice house and my 5 year old and I love Mini RC's..

Up until both my 3.8 and my r-spec went out I was the King of the street..
