CO2 is no fun. no fire... not dangerous... no chance of explosion... look at my avatar...

Uber_hampster 02-17-2004 01:07 PM

I just gave a sugestion for if he used co2, i didnt suggest he use it. and your right rockets are more fun, especially if something bad happens.

viperdout 02-17-2004 04:32 PM

Oh contraire. If you punture a CO2 rocket in your hand, it rips your skin off, literally. Plus, you don't have the risk of neighbors calling the cops, setting a 50 dollar Xmod on fire, or both. I guess I'm just thinking too logically. If I wasn't paying for it, I'd strap on a Jato rocket ;)!

sawhit4 02-17-2004 05:14 PM

i may have understood him wrong but isnt he just goin for the look of nitrous? if so co2 isnt gonna get it.

Uber_hampster 02-17-2004 07:18 PM

if he was goin for the look, i dont think he would be considering the physics and timing of lighting the engines. I dunno, maybe I'm understanding wrong.

token5gtd 02-17-2004 07:55 PM

it sounds like a pretty cool idea to me, and it sounds like it can work if you pull it off right...good luck...get us some pics of the progress and def a video if u get it finished

sawhit4 02-17-2004 07:55 PM

well at the very beginning he talked about venting the exaust through the pipes to get the look at it says "mock nitrous"

Uber_hampster 02-17-2004 09:34 PM

you forgot to prove me wrong by stating that the title has the word "mock nitrous" in it. oops, my bad. ok, so no c02, but is he still gonna light them?, cause everyones talkin about lighting them corectly and weather it would push the car, and physical foces, etc...

NissanGTR01 02-18-2004 10:33 AM

if i am thinking right what he wants with the pipes is the effect of a flame coming out of the "exhaust" pipe hence the use of the mock exhaust. What most of you don't understand is that nitrous dosen't throw a flame out of the exhaust i can do that right now without a spark plug in the exhaust. The way they did it in the movie was with special effects now the flame that the syline threw was actual but the was it was done by extreme power now a pink flame coming out of the s2000 was fake but the skyline did have propane being sprayed into the exhaust and lit to get blue but usually when you light a fuel and air mix you will get a white or yellow flame but back to the subject co2 would probably be more effective in creating that effect. but i would not recomend a rocket motor just to throw a flame out the back of the car

Uber_hampster 02-18-2004 10:46 AM

Yea, I missunderstood. Maybe he can rig up a lighter with maybe 2 secs worth of fuel in an aluminum protective case! Be sure to film it so we can see some xmod carnage!

aperson 02-18-2004 11:42 AM

the exhaust is just to direct the flames out the back so it doesnt ruin the body as much as it would without exhaust. not mock exhaust just a big tube coming out the back right?f

sawhit4 02-18-2004 07:33 PM

yeah nitrous doesnt do that and if you want to "personalize" your flame certain metals can be mixed with flamable liquids and sprayed by an ignighter in the pipe to make colored flames. like copper makes a green flame

dero 02-18-2004 07:47 PM

Yes i know bigger is better, and more is beats less. what if you just used 1 motor. Then you wouldnt have to worry about them lighting at the same time. just take some steel tube, block off one end, slide th motor in, (this is to cover the sides and front of the motor so it wont blow up in the car as easly) cut a hole in the back bumper so the motor is angled down, hook up additional pcb, and go.

Uber_hampster 02-18-2004 07:50 PM

thats a good idea. It solves all the tortional problems of 2 motors, and if you really wanted 2 exhausts, you could add in a metal spliter at the mouth of the rocket, directed down 2 pipes. Of course, you might need to weld it, i dunno, im just brainstorming.
