Get a roll of tin tape at a hardware store. It is the kind used for HVAC ductwork and is made out of aluminum with a sticky back.

Cut off a very small peice and wrap it around the shaft until it is the right diameter. It works great and can be used on a hundred different modeling tasks.

Thanks for the help, but I found a solution. I had some old bit tires, so I cut off a small piece of that rubber, and just press fit the gear over the shaft and the rubber. It holds reallly well, and if it doesn't work while actually running the truck, I'll try that tape method.

Where did you get the gears/gearbox? I intend to use a GWS IPS gearbox to use with my IPS gear, and I already have a servo. An IPS-F should work nicely, and if that will not function, I could always get a
EPS-100. I fly micro RC and I have a CS-6, and it puts out 13 0z of torque.

The GWS gearbox you are talking about is bigger than my whole truck.

My gears come from HO scale train stores.

I guess I never really had an idea of how small these things really are.
Does anyone think the IPS motor would work? They're pretty small, and have a small profile.

If you are following the spirit of the Euopean style TTTT, the vehicals must be 1/87 scale. An IPSs motor is bigger than the truck itself.

However, there are guys building small rock crawlers that are not true TTTT scale. Look at Killers 1/35th scale rock crawler. Your IPS motor could work on big trucks like his.

I prefer the challenge of 1/87th scale. Build one of these, and you can build anything.

I'll go with your advice on this one. What kind of motor do you use? I already have a dinky servo (CS-6.2) and rx (GWS pico), and a 2 amp ESC, with some 7.2 LiPo and LiIon packs.
Does anyone know where I can get HO train gears? I'm no engineer, and want to just have something that works. I have some ho trains, just none that are available for demotlition.

All I can suggest is that you read alot and try browsing the web now and then.

A good place to start would be to read this thread from the begining.
