I hope my following statement doesnt tick anyone off here at TinyRC. Personal background first...
I owe my initial interest in Bits to these forums. I bought a ZZ last NOv. for my boss, but after finding TinyRC and thing you guys were doing with them, let's just say my boss never got his! I now have a pretty big collection of bits in every frequency and some spec. Ed. ones just to look at. I have been modifying everything i could since my dad gave me my first truck @ 15.

These bits are what I've needed and I take anything with potentials for creativity and development like this is pretty seriously except for one thing... while I may be the only one saying this, I think others feel similar at least. >>>>>

GoTBiTs got Banned. Hmmmm. while he would ramble sometimes, I sort of saw him as a mascot I guess. Based on his profile and his wording he was very smart for his age but I seriously found him more comical than offending. This may show my age, but I compared him to Pee-Wee off the PORKY's movies. (if you don't get that then rent the movie now before it's too late) I'll kind of miss reading some of his posts and beleive it or not I looked for them sometimes when things were boring. Just curious how find " cynical and witty" remarks form TV or comics amusing, but attack "got Bits" who still had a decent amount of legit posts aside from his others. I dunno, I think if he cuts down the flooding of threads he is ok. Besides he can't be that witty and serious at the same time. If noone agrees that's fine , but don't lynch me either. Just wanted to put my two-cents in on this.
BTW this thread is starting to come across as a very unwelcoming flag to anyone interested in registering. Think about when you first joined and if you would have with all this "NOOB" profiling lately. Newbies keep things going, the rest keep it going the right direction.

My only response to this Starion is:

We do welcome newbs who want to talk about bits and learn from us, or heck even teach us a few things. The ones that get really bad are the ones who are now SO broke and want us to send them $50 bits for free. Asking the same question that is usually in the FAQ, or instead of doing a simple search. Also to run a site like this it costs a good deal of money and useless posts end up causing tinyrc more money due to the use of his bandwidth. Not to be too rude, but i wish tinyrc would stop allowing picture attachment...make the users link to it from webpages, thus lowering tinyrc's overhead.

Of all the forums i have been on i'd say this one is the easiest. Some of my forums won't allow people with free email services to join, others have a one strike rule which tends to fall on newbies to forums, one even has a waiting period before you can start posting...30 days to read and digest what is already there...then ask questions.

Newbies are great...but some are too fresh in forums to handle life...keep most things realted, even off topic discussions should be related...a few recently started wasting posts on Slipknot and CKY...not judging either band, but there are forums for these bands...but to find them you'll need to search on google.com

I'm somwhat of a NewB. Binaryterror is very close to my story. I've been reading these forums for the past 4-6 weeks not actually signin up until recently. I try to limmit my posts between 5-10 a day I go over sometimes in case I get caught up in a thread but other than that I think I've done a good job. I was the reason gotBits got banned.(sorry sorry sorry) we got into a fight over a 3.8 motor in the trading forum. Kind of odd really since like in one thread we were laughing and joking and in another we hated each others guts. Funny how those things work. Also none of you think I post junk do you?

nrmcj 04-02-2003 09:38 AM

nah, you dont post crap... just so long as pple keep it clean, it's all good.. and sometimes those single word posts are needed! it's always better to try to fill them out a little, with some advice or suggestions... or whatever...

got bits was kinda annoying.. sure he was funny, but when you get to the level of "im gonna waste ur ass cuz im bigger"...o.O" i mean...we're talkin toys here!

i, for one, am for picture attatchments... for the sole reason that i have no web space to put up pix :D

i talk too much anyway........ hey any of you guys know what happened to jei$? he used to post a lot..

About the saving bandwidth thing that Binary was talkin about...

I do try to save bandwidth, so I post the links, not the picture sometimes. But when I DO post a link, it shows up a pic anyways. Anyone know how to turn this off?

strider_mt2k 04-02-2003 04:33 PM

I don't get it, if Tiny didn't want posting of pics, of if there was an actual waste of space happening, wouldn't Tiny say something about it?

You got me a little worried, because I've posted ALOT of mods here. I also have a Yahoo photo page I direct people to.

I'd love to hear from Tiny on this one, because I haven't really considered it that way before. You make a very good point.

xatu 04-02-2003 05:03 PM

Yea, but maybe he has enough bandwidth to spare or something?

strakka 04-02-2003 06:12 PM

yeah i kinda agree on the saving bandwidth thing....... only at times when you find a great thread over on another forum thats not allowed here. thats like the only time i post pics

starion_999 04-02-2003 08:37 PM

Thats cool... Binary Terror explained the circumstances better than "annoying" or other personal feelings as a cause. No more devils advocate on this one besides I had just woke up if you couldn't tell by my perfekt typing:D
I too am "pic-link" impaired and at least use image ready to optimize my pics for web veiwing before attaching. I even have space w/ Earthlink but can't get it to work right and they won't tell me either:rolleyes: Thanks for not lynchin' me...lol

but got bits deserved to get banned. I feel sorry for him too u know imagine YOU were banned, but he flamed at everyoine and he called me a moron several times fdor honest mistakes which he makes more often than me. And he was a begger

xatu 04-03-2003 02:00 PM

He has probably already registered a new file here, but if Tiny doesn't want this happening again, he should block their IP address from bieng able to register here. But then again, they could do it on a different computer, say at school, a friends house, or something like that.
