Yeah, haha, it looks like plain junk, but you know those huge rear bumper drag spoilers? Maybe I could faricate one of those to cover the battery up with, hahaha. I don't know, but at least it is working! I'm just waiting for this thing to burn up, haha.

The batteries die very quickly using the car like this! When they die, they die too, the car just stops! But still, no probs and two pretty long runs and a bunch of little ones and now I'm on my second set of batteries.

what kind of batteries do you use?
radioshack ones?

cmuench 11-19-2003 07:04 AM

9V

looks pretty fast. I can not wait till some of my friends start doing real mods to there cars. right now im killing them with ease. When you hooked up your 9V and lights did you experience any problems?

you know what you could try? get rid of teh two stock AAA battery holders and wire up two 9V batteries in parallel on both sides. should give you twice the runtime and possibly, but not definately, give you more current output from the two batteries combined which may make it even faster

Problem with 2 9V

The problem is that if you put two in parellel you would have an incredible 18V! Little too much, you would have to put resistors inline in order to accomplish something like that

4G63T 11-19-2003 01:35 PM

how much are the resistors?

cmuench 11-19-2003 01:37 PM

Cheap...

There dirt cheap

BoostCrzy 11-19-2003 02:30 PM

actually if the 2 batteries are in parallel the voltage stays the same....the current is doubled......if they are wired in series, then the voltage is doubled.....

cmuench 11-19-2003 02:32 PM

Opps..

May bad, I jumped the gun and did not even see that he said parellel

I didn't get a chance to race today, but I will ASAP so I can get the video to yall! I use any batteries, but right now I have radioshacks in there. The 2 9V is a good thought, but it is already at the edge of its limit with one it seems like. I would only add a 9V if your XMOD is somewhat disposable to you or if you really need to win a race, hehe. By the way, can anyone get the correct guage wire and correct size and brightness led's to make an underbody kit with? I have looked everywhere and no luck. i tried 22 guage wire and 5mm LED's but they were too big and very dim.
