Hi marcus,

how do wish me to help you? Should I order the material here and send it to you?

I could do that, of course. But remember that there are the shipping costs to me and again to England. By the way: the cheapest is 4,50 EUR (max. 500g, 5-7 days, not insured) or 16,00 EUR (3-4 days, insured) and it would take about 5 days from the order until I've got it here, and another 3-7 days until it reaches you.

If you wanna do it that way, I suggest that you tell me what you need, I will look for the cheapest supplier, tell you the costs, you send me the money (wich takes again some time) and I'll start the order.

This is a pretty long procedure, but if you want we can do it this way.

If you just need some small pieces of profiles that I accidently have here, I can also send you some of mine ...

Hi Jochen,
Sorry for the late reply. I havent received an email about the materials yet so i was wondering if you had any spare bits lying around?

What i am after is some 1mm brass rod and some thin brass sheet. Also do you have the plastic MAN 5T chassis bit as i had to move the servo and mine is quite flimsy at the moment. If you do have them parts how much would you want for them?

Thanks for your help,
Marcus

Don't worry, we don't have to post every day if there is nothing new

If I understand you right, you need round brass material with 1mm diameter? That's exactly what I don't have :(
I have 0,5mm brass and 1,5mm pipe material (1,5mm external diameter and 1,0mm internal). But I've got some brass sheets in 0,3 and 0,5mm.

I'm not sure what you mean with the chassis bit? Do you mean the complete plastic ladder frame of the MAN? I could just send you my complete spare MAN that I used as a reference to the one I was building.

So let me know how much material you need. I will look tonight how much of it I have at home, ok?

By the way: if you build a model it's always good to have two. One to work on, and one as reference and for spare parts.

Yep thats right i do need the 1mm brass material. Its ok if you don't have any as i might be able to get some of it in the UK.
How thin are the 0.3mm brass sheets?

Yes its the plastic ladder frame. If you dont need the other MAN truck then your help would be very much appreictated.

Thanks for your help,
Marcus

Sorry about that I meant is it quite flimsy or is it quite strong?

I would say it's still quiet strong ... so far I have only worked with the 0.3mm material as it was strong enough for my needs. 0.5 is almost a bit thick.

MarcusN 11-21-2008 08:51 AM

ah ok then, the 0.3mm brass sounds good enough.
Let us know when you get home what parts you have.
Thanks for your help

Hi Marcus,

I have a rest piece of about 20 x 15cm of 0,3mm brass that I could send you.

My spare MAN 5to has died
I don't know how, but my kids got hold of it somehow ... and although it's a tough military truck, made for war and hard environment conditions, there was no chance to survive the treatment of two young girls who used it as a barbie transporter ...

There are only two tires left ... the rest ended up in smoke.

So let me know if you just want the piece of brass (which would be no hell of a lot for a sending) or if I should get something else ...

Thats a shame but ah well these things happen at least the model had a good life transporting barbies

I was thinking maybe it would be better if you could order some parts from lemo-solar to be sent to me and i pay you to pay them? As they do ship items internationally but they dont accept paypal? If you can understand what i just said then you are better at english than me

Thanks
Marcus

jogs 11-22-2008 02:20 AM

Hi Marcus,

I understand what you mean (it's not too difficult :-), and I agree to your plan, no problem.

But let me ask a silly question: How do you plan to send me the money? In a way that's not accepted by Lemo Solar? I could just imagine that an international bank transfer is a bit more expensive than sending some bank notes by mail ... is it that what you are planning?

Let me know. The "how to" is up to you, and I'll help you in any way.

MarcusN 11-22-2008 09:45 AM

Hi Jochen,

Oh yeah i forgot to ask you if you have a paypal account?

Thanks
Marcus

jogs 11-23-2008 04:08 AM

Hi marcus,

Yes I have an account, but so far I have only used it to pay on ebay.

I just had a look, and I can also use it to recieve money. That costs for me 1,9% (of the amount that should be transferred) plus 0,35EUR. So that's fine with me, if you take the Paypal costs.

jochen

MarcusN 11-23-2008 09:35 AM

yep i will pay the paypal charges for you.

Please could you let me know how much it will cost for these parts from lemo-solar

Rundmessing ( Bohr und Drehqualität ), Längen 500 mm
-Best.-Nr. RM-0,5 / d= 0,5 mm Ø x 500 mm Länge x2
-Best.-Nr. RM-1,0 / d = 1,0 mm Ø x 500 mm Länge x2

Messingrohre ( Ms 63 ), Längen 500 mm
-Best.-Nr. MR-1006 / d= 1,0 mm Ø / Id= 0,6 mm Ø / S= 0,2 mm x2
-Best.-Nr. MR-1511 / d= 1,5 mm Ø / Id= 1,1 mm Ø / S= 0,2 mm x2

Messing - Vierkant ( Bohr und Drehqualität ), Längen 500 mm
a x a= 1 x 1 mm / Länge 500 mm x2

Messingblech / Ms 63 halbhart 200 x 200 mm> Materialstärke 0,3 mm x2

Thanks
Marcus

jogs 11-24-2008 07:31 AM

hi Marcus,

I was looking at the lemo solar web site. Your material would cost 12,08 EUR. The shipping costs to England are not specified. I called Mr. Lehnert and he couldn't give me the exact shipping fee (but he said it would be under 20 EUR).

He also said that you only get the exact shipping costs within an advance invoice for the order that must be payed in advance (for orders from abroad).

Regarding the value of the material and the shipping costs (almost 20 EUR) I suggest the following: I'll make the order and let it send to me and I'll pay for the shipping (because I would order some more stuff for me too).

When the material has arrived, I'll send it straight to you with the cheapest possibility. That would be 4,50 EUR, but with the handicap, that the 500mm profiles must be cut in the middle because of the maximum length of the parcel. The next steep in shipping costs would be 8,60 EUR with no need to cut the material. Both ways are not insured and last 5-7 days. If you want an insured shipment, you can order straight from Lemo Solar as it costs about 16 EUR.

confusion complete? :)

jochen

MarcusN 11-24-2008 08:01 AM

Hi Jochen,

Yep i am confused. Only joking!! i understood everthing.

Its all fine by me and it would be better if you cut the 500mm profiles into two as no TTTT truck is gonna be that BIG!!

So altogether my order should cost 17 to 18 Euros?

Just out of curiosity what are you buying from lemo-solar? Is it some parts for the MAN 630 build?

Thanks for your help,
Marcus

Yes, I'll order a piece of sqaure brass 10x10mm, round brass 6mm (for wheels), and some of the same things like you.

So can I go and make the order now? We can deal with the paypal stuff in the meantime ...

Jochen

MarcusN 11-24-2008 09:57 AM

Hi Jochen,
Yep you can make the order.
Let me know when you want me to pay you by paypal.

thanks
Marcus

Hi Marcus,

something new about your project? How did you start with the brass material?

Jochen

MarcusN 12-31-2008 09:02 AM

Hi everyone,
I am sorry to say that i am going to have to sell my tttt stuff as it is costing too much and i have lost my job and spent most of my money on Christmas.
Thank you for all your help and i am sorry that my project didn't go on further.
If you are interested in any of the parts just let me know,
thanks again,
Marcus
