Thanks!

By "OG" I mean the "original" japanese anime with sub-titles as opposed to the dubbed version that will be released in the states.

RE: finding a copy, the 4th post from the top has a link to the shop that I buy from... and I believe that there was another link somewhere else on this thread.

Hope this helps.

Discountanimedvd is JUST like as if you were living in Japan, they recieve everything when it comes out over there
and they have AWSOME prices...some as low as $11...if you dont mind the extra week of waiting...the standard price of a dvd is usually $13
the Box sets are EXTREAMLY CHEAP!!

so at discountanimedvd is the quality just like a regular dvd or like a vcd because i've had my problems with vcds

Locked...loaded...and ready to swing

First off...I would like to thank you for totally getting me into Initial D! It rocks my world! :D

And second, I would really like to know the quality of those DVDs, like the rest of the guys here. Cause it says those are region free and my experience with region free DVDs is not exactly a happy one. I have plenty of'em and most are not the greatest of quality. So, I reiterate, how's the quality on those DVDs?

I have the 2nd Stage set. The same one they sell in the link provided above. The Quality is up there and I recommend it.
It was subtitled or released by a hong kong company called "indian international inc" I saw some fakes in an local store though. Ones that dont have a hologram logo of a unicorn at the back of the boxset. I think the "extra stage" I bought was a fake because there were no logos or any company names and there was a "skip" or cut at the opening music sountrack.

initial d is tite... i downloaded all of the series.. and now there on 11 disks hahaha ^^

Damn boy you must have gotten GIGANTIC versions, my friend has every single episode burned onto 5 very full CDs, AVI format, aka compressed and optimized for size. And they're not dubbed (actually I don't think Initial D is dubbed at all), but I'm on OC-3 (12.5 megs/second up and down) so if you're nice to me maybe I can hook you up and throw them on my FTP site.

Anyway, when I saw this post I immediately thought initial D, and I saw the last poster, takumi_drifto, and had to chuckle.

Seems like most of us agree on Initial D as a good racing anime. Anyone have any other recommendations that have not been mentioned?:D

ShadowMage 12-17-2002 12:01 AM
