I'm tempted to try to use Gameboy Advance SP batteries with some sort of regulation just because they are available to me via my store fairly cheap.

Popping them into a used GBA SP for charging doesn't seem too bad either, but I haven't sized one next to a ZZ MT yet, nor do I have a plan on an easy in/out mount for said batteries.

gameboy advance batteries are small but still to big for a ZZmt.
There are small 1 cell LI-po's(20mmx25mmx4mm or so) on the net for about $8 each and a charger is around $20-$60 depending on what features you want/need.

I was just looking at one and it is indeed too big, unless you want it to be the bed of a flatbed truck body.
