Went to the RS close to home yesterday, no more ZZ carry cases...I'm stopping by the one on the way to work, see if I can't get a couple.

Once I get the Vette bodies, I'm going to re-shoot everything with a different light setup and lens, I'm not super happy with the results I got 1st time around...So watch out! If you liked what you saw before, hehe yur gonna drool on the 2nd take!

what was the date code on those torinos? i've found that the 01A04's still stutter, but the 02A04's are perfect.

Doesn't seem bullet proof. Bought a Chevelle today, date code 01A04, rock solid. Not a twitch. Can't check the others as I don't save the packaging.

A couple of observations. The newer SEs, 60-7037 (Torino) on up seem for the most part to be good cars. I have noticed slight differences though. All of the cars have equal steps on each side. Usually 5 steps. Some of the cars have extremely slight center stutter. Just a slight twitch. While other cars are silent on centering. This doesnt seem to matter which stock number you may be refering to as it seems most are good with a few exceptions as long as you stick with stock numbers ending in 37 and on up. I've only had one car I had to return and it was a Torino which had noticable center stutter. The slight twitch of some cars doesn't effect handling at all and doesn't occur all of the time. I've also noticed that the problem of some older cars having a crooked or "toed in" wheel on one side doesn't show up in the newer cars. Nor does the one front wheel higher than the other problem. Seems quality control was raised on the newer cars as well. I've replaced my original 8 clunkers with good cars and did the 7/7 mod on two of my best older cars (though I seem to only get 4-5 steps each side). I'm very pleased with these things now.

Scored a pair of carry cases this morning coming into work (not to mention a sneaky-peeky at the RS cutie's thong when she bent over to grab the cases! :D Hey, I might be married, but I ain't DEAD!)

Now I want to investigate a few ZZSE mods/options:
- FETs
- Lowering the body mount
- Easing the steering tension (a little too stiff for my tastes)
- Adjustable steering range on the remote (someone mentioned using a Pot so that you could widen/tighten the gap between steering steps). This mod I would apprecaite the most.

Does anyone have a picture of the back of a ZZSE box that I can use for reference when I pack up the car again. I got most of the stuff in (chassis, wheels, tires, body, motor, axle, pinion, screwdriver, controller) but I don't remember where the little wrist band goes, and which way the card is flipped.

If you're returning a defective ZipZap for exchange, you don't need to package it back up. Just bring it back to your RS with your receipt -:)

I've updated my original post with yet another way (this one seems to be the best way) of finding a 'fixed' car. This time it's based on a date code.

Hmm..Gotta visit RS more often. Excellent work guys. I'm waiting for yall to figure this whole thing out so I can run ouyt and buy all the good ones around here. ;)

On most RS products, a date code is also somewhere one the product as well as on the package. This helps when dealing with products that are missing the package. If you look at the inside of the battery compartment cover of the transmitter, you will also find a sticker with the date code printed on it.

Just got back from RS Clayton with my new Gran Torino and Muscle car upgrade kit. I noticed another difference between the old (at least the Savanna) and new cars. The front wheels dont have the metal peg sticking through, but the silver plastic cap like on the rear axle.
