metal nuts with nylon threads would be nice!

TypeZer0 03-20-2004 01:11 PM

i like to see wheels and tires that are plastic, resemble brand name aftermarket wheels from enkei and other companies, and are wider. they should have the same offset so that the extra width would protrude outwards. i like to see treaded tires that have sharply cut grooves in it, not the rounded groove edges of the treaded tires from the RS tire upgrade kit. (hope you know what i mean, if not i'll throw up a pic later)

Nylon locknuts are availble for the Mini-Z and are the perfect fit for the X-Mod. Check the sister site, mini-zracer.com

Any 2mm locknut will work. Also check the FAQ section, this has been discussed in depth somwhere in there.

TypeZer0, why plastic tires?

has anyone tried to use a CD as a wheel? we used to use them for that for some project in wood working.

I'm a big fan of the 15 degree GPM sport edge radials for the Mini-Z. They work well on the carpet that I run on. Once it actually gets warm enough to run outside, I'll have to find the preferred setup for asphalt.

id like to see somthing like a micky thompson sportsman tire in a soft compound they look like the duratrax street trac tires

TypeZer0 04-06-2004 05:56 PM

actually, i meant plastic wheels and rubber tires. didn't really think when i was typing

spinitsidewayz! 04-07-2004 02:31 AM

i want some tires that are nice and grippy but dont crumble off like the xmod ones. i have a pair that i stuck on my rear and the thread is gone after 2 days of drifting in my garage...

aperson 04-07-2004 05:26 PM

IDK if its possible but softer rubber on the outside and harder on the inside. that way the tires wouldnt come off as easily like the totally soft ones do. how about paddle tires?

Tbird Man 04-10-2004 10:29 PM

one word, foams, better foams than the RS ones. or perhaps silicone. and how about a modified ball diff to fix the annoying slip from the washers not locking to the hubs? possible? I have ideas. and how difficult would it be to make alu. outer shafts and universals?

aperson 04-14-2004 11:53 AM

maybe they could replace the rear with aluminum universals too. no more broken cup joints. maybe they could sell them with rubber boots over them?

fastflyinclipse 06-14-2004 02:32 PM

its just a thought but if you guys could make like a tire for like goin in the dirt and make sumthin that fits around the holes where dirt could get in (or just b cheap like i would and stuff cardboard up there) but yeah its not much to work off of but i think its possible.

:) YAY MY FIRST POST:)

I attached a crappy mspaint diagram to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

The problem with that design is it will not correct the problem, and instead make it worse. If you reverse it, It will make it a whole lot better.

Something like this http://www.xmodworld.com/albums/albu..._IMG.sized.jpg I run these wider and higher profile tires for drag. These also have a tread.
