ok i judt did it....well I used the wrong motor, I meant to use the Stock motor, but by great excitement I didn't even care to read what it said and I used the SII Drift, the good thing is that within 5mins of dipping and lubricating, it started to perform better and better!!! faster and quieter...the bad thing is , around about 9mins it just suddenly stops, I was wondering why? then I found out that the black wire was poorly solderd, so now i g2 resolder it and continue it some other time...

Btw the water was like white! and bits of black stuff, o yea wahts a good way of drying it? i just left it on top of some paper towels.....how do i resoldier this thing back on? its the black wire that connects the bat to the motor, the lead looks like it has two things connected to it so i g2 be careful were I soldier i guess

Do these motors have carbon brushes or bronze brushes????

does the preformance of water dipped wear out?

i'm so disapointed at the result of the S1 stock motor after being water dipped, after water dipping it last night it sounded quiet and fast. but today when I used it in my civic against another of my civic with stock motor, the unwater dipped one flew and was like an inch ahead, i'm also not happy of the so called "quiet sound" because they sounded almost the same.


BTW i have no clue if it last for a long time

There are two keys to success when using the water break in method.

1. Use a good water displacing penetrating oil or contact cleaner to get all of the water out. I use Performance Plus 3 electric motor cleaner, which is found at your LHS. Spray in the little hole in the front of the motor until it starts gushing out of the endbell. Then spray some more. Then spin the armature by hand a bunch of times to help get the cleaner out. Let it dry for a few minutes.

2. Use a good light oil on the bushings. One drop will do. I use Slick 50 One Lube. It is important to be especially neat when lubing th ebushing on the endbell, you don't want to get the oil on the commutator and brushes that you just spent all that time cleaning. Spin the armature by hand a few times to get the oil to seep into the bushing. Hold the motor so that the oil runs down into the bushing by using gravity to help. Wipe up the excess oil.

The bushings are the little metal rings that the motor shaft passes through at both ends.

when i run my s2 drag with no load somtimes it makes this high pitched whining/scraping sound until i ease off the throttle... any ideas on whats wrong?

Could it be that there is no load, when it's supposed to have one. And the gears aren't all meshed together, they're loose when not on the ground...

im not running the motor in the car so it cant be the gears.could be that im running it with no load. or maybe it needs more lubrication?

Then it'd have to be no load lol, how would you sound spinning at 30,000 rpm? :P
