Here's my latest, and probably best, drift setup
Hard Springs Hard Tires Ball diff in front Stock diff in rear. I got it drifting completely sideways for about 7 or 8 feet on a tile floor. |
On the street in front of my house I found it best to make the car drift by using wieght transfer. Using a torque motor and gears, hard slick tires in the rear, hard suspention and not using the AWD kit, make a small turn in the opposite direction you wish to turn, lay off the throttle, turn the direction you want to go, hit the throttle, than counter steer to keep from spinning out. Worked for me, it does take some practice to get the timing down.

I've been working on getting a proper powerslide on dry pavement. I can almost pull it off, but it's a bit tail happy, I have since moved the battery compartments forward and will try again sometime this week.
The car does seem to ahve plenty of power on tap, if I gun it on the pavement it spins the back wheels right before taking off. Maybe I have in increase grip on the rear slightly and go for a 50/50 weight ratio to get it right. |
I can pretty much drift with any XMOD with my basement floor becasue it is so slick.

yeah i don't think anyone REALLY can drift on purpose with their xmod it is all by chance that they drift unless they have made a track for their xmod and can drift on all the right turns on the track then i would consider them being able to drift i saw many vids but many of them are just like a wide open area where their cars just spin out of control and they call it drifting i only nice xmod drifting vid i seen was the bodyless rsx around those stairs

i have been able to accomplish about 4 foot drifts around the majority of the nose of a 1:1 mustang with a supra that only had the drag motor stage 2 in. the only other mod was the body kit .... but that didnt affect anything. and it WAS a real drift.

ummm it's some where in the gallery section there is a supra one but the guy only got it to drift once
